Days after Bahrain, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt cut off diplomatic and economic ties with Qatar and launched a Naval blockade over ‘funding terrorism and supporting Iran,’ Saudi Arabia gave the small gulf nation 24 hours to fulfill 10 conditions that have been sent to Kuwait.
While the details have not been made public, rumor has it that one of Saudi Arabia’s demands is that Qatar sever all ties with the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas – both considered terrorist organizations by international bodies.
More from ZeroHedge:
While there was little additional information on the Ultimatum and more importantly what happens should Qatar not comply, Al Jazeera reported that Kuwait’s emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, left Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after holding mediation talks with the Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz to try to defuse an escalating crisis between Arab countries and Qatar. No details were given on the talks.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, analyst Giorgio Cafiero of Gulf State Analytics, a geopolitical risk consultancy based in Washington, DC, said: “I think the Kuwaitis as well as Omanis … fear the prospects of these tensions escalating in ways which could undermine the interest of all six members of the GCC.
“There are many analysts who believe that a potential break-up of the GCC has to be considered right now.”
“If these countries fail to resolve their issues and such tensions reaches new heights, we have to be very open to the possibility of these six Arab countries no longer being able to unite under the banner of one council,” said Cafiero.
He added that if tension escalates, some have warned of a “military confrontation”.
FAKE NEWS?
This massive shunning is the result of a broadcast which Qatar claims was a hack of their state-run news agency in order to misrepresent the Emir as a backer of radical Islam – whereby a tape was played of Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani speaking with no audio, while ‘hacked’ captions containing for his support of terrorism and Iran scrolled across the ticker at the bottom of the screen.
After the broadcast, Saudi Arabia and the UAE blocked Qatari news organization Al-Jazeera last week.
DAMAGE CONTROL
Recall the Wikileaks email in which Hillary Clinton tells John Podesta that Qatar and Saudi Arabia were giving ‘clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups.’
Well – it looks like the plan is to throw Qatar under the bus in order to elevate Saudi Arabia’s status. Israel has assembled a coalition to go fight ISIS / Terrorism / Iran – which includes Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Israel, Egypt, and Jordan.
Look! Trump hates Qatar too!
HACKING UP THE TRUCK?
As iBankCoin previously reported: CNN is now reporting that the siege of Qatar, implemented by Saudi Arabia, is the result of fake news stories planted by strong as shit Russian programmers, raping Qatar’s state run news agency, which caused Saudi Arabia to starve the people of Qatar to death.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d guess Qatar just reversed course on some kind of international shakedown and is now playing ball. Why else the sudden shift to MUH RUSSIANS?
