BBC: US Coalition In Syria Struck Deal With ISIS To Allow Safe Passage Out Of Raqqa

As the last remnants of ISIS face defeat in the East Syrian city of Abu Kamal, and General Mattis signalling an open-ended US military presence in the country to battle any “ISIS 2.0” holdouts “as long as they want to fight,” a new report in the BBC sheds light on a deal to allow ISIS fighters safe passage out of Raqqa – likely in exchange for control over the ISIS-held Omar oil fields.

The BBC has uncovered details of a secret deal that let hundreds of Islamic State fighters and their families escape from Raqqa, under the gaze of the US and British-led coalition and Kurdish-led forces who control the city.

A convoy included some of IS’s most notorious members and – despite reassurances – dozens of foreign fighters. Some of those have spread out across Syria, even making it as far as Turkey.

At the time, neither the US and British-led coalition, nor the SDF, which it backs, wanted to admit their part.

Not New News 

News of the ISIS deal had been circulating throughout the internet, however this BBC report is the first MSM outlet to pick up the story.

ZeroHedge reports:

Though it’s always good when the mainstream media belatedly gives confirmation to stories that actually broke months prior, the BBC was very late to the story. ISIS terrorists being given free passage by coalition forces to leave Raqqa was a story which we and other outlets began to report last June, and which Moon of Alabama and Al-Masdar News exposed in detail a full month prior to the BBC report.

And astoundingly, even foreign fighters who had long vowed to carry out attacks in Europe and elsewhere were part of the deal brokered under the sponsorship of the US coalition in Syria. According to the BBC report:

Disillusioned, weary of the constant fighting and fearing for his life, Abu Basir decided to leave for the safety of Idlib. He now lives in the city. He was part of an almost exclusively French group within IS, and before he left some of his fellow fighters were given a new mission.

“There are some French brothers from our group who left for France to carry out attacks in what would be called a ‘day of reckoning.’”

Much is hidden beneath the rubble of Raqqa and the lies around this deal might easily have stayed buried there too. The numbers leaving were much higher than local tribal elders admitted. At first the coalition refused to admit the extent of the deal.

So it appears that the US allowed ISIS terrorists to freely leave areas under coalition control, according to no less than the BBC, while at the same time attempting to make the case before the public that a permanent Pentagon presence is needed in case of ISIS’ return. But it’s a familiar pattern by now: yesterday’s proxies become today’s terrorists, which return to being proxies again, all as part of justifying permanent US military presence on another nation’s sovereign territory.

America’s Syrian adventure went from public declarations of “we’re staying out” to “just some logistical aid to rebels” to “okay, some mere light arms to fight the evil dictator” to “well, a few anti-tank missiles wouldn’t hurt” to “we gotta bomb the new super-bad terror group that emerged!” to “ah but no boots on the ground!” to “alright kinetic strikes as a deterrent” to “but special forces aren’t really boots on the ground per se, right?” to yesterday’s Mattis declaration of an open-ended commitment. And on and on it goes.

General Motors unveiled its newest iteration of the Corvette ZR1, calling it the fastest and most powerful car they’ve ever produced. Since 1970, only four iterations of the Corvette have been given the top of the line “ZR1” designation – offering a better engine, suspension, transmission and brakes than the standard ‘vette.

It’s massive 6.2 liter supercharged V8 generates 755 horsepower / 715 lb-ft of toruqe. That’s 300 hp and 255 lb-ft more than the base model Stingray, propelling the top-of-the-line ‘vette to a top speed of over 210 MPH. The eaton supercharger displaces 52% more air than its predecessor, which is tucked neatly under a carbon-fiber “halo” hood insert.

“I’ve never driven a Corvette like this before, and nobody else has either, because there’s never been one like this before,” said GM product chief Mark Reuss, adding “Its unprecedented performance puts all other global supercars on notice that the ZR1 is back.”

The exterior of the ZR1 is adorned in Carbon Fiber, and will be offered with a 7-speed manual or an optional 8-speed automatic transmission.

Performance specs aren’t out yet aside from the top speed, however it looks like the new beast may be in league with the $450,000 2016 Ford GT.

Helping to help keep the ZR1 on the ground is a giant optional aerodynamic package, which includes a giant adjustable rear wing and other attachments to generate downforce – planting the car on its 14-inch wide rear tires with up to 950 lbs of pressure. This is made possible by mounting the wing to the chassis instead of the hatchback – which means you’ll have to hike groceries over the massive spoiler to get them in the trunk.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, though eager buyers expect it to top the $112K price tag of the previous ZR1.

Acting on two requests from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Attorney General Jeff Session has directed senior federal prosecutors to explore “certain issues” involving the sale of Uranium One, along with allegations of pay-for-play related to the Clinton Foundation – leaving the door open for the appointment of a separate Special Counsel investigation.

In a letter exclusively obtained by Fox news, the Justice Department responded to July 27 and September 26 requests from congressional Republicans.

“The Attorney General has directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate certain issues raised in your letters,” Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd wrote.

“These senior prosecutors will report directly to the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General [Rod Rosenstein], as appropriate, and will make recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel,” Boyd wrote.

The Justice Department does not ordinarily confirm or deny investigations, and Boyd wrote that “this letter should not be construed to do so.”

The Justice Department’s letter specifically said that some of the topics requested by Goodlatte and other committee members were already being investigated by the department’s Inspector General’s office.

The letter specifically mentioned allegations related to the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email probe, including allegations that DOJ and FBI “policies or procedures” were “not followed in connection with, or in actions leading up to or related to” then-FBI Director James Comey’s public announcement to close the Clinton email “matter” on July 5, 2016, or the letter he sent lawmakers on October 28, 2016, about newly discovered Clinton emails, and that those “investigative decisions were based on improper considerations.”

“The Department has forwarded a copy of your letters to the IG so he can determine whether he should expand the scope of his investigation based on the information contained in those letters,” Boyd added. “Once the IG’s review is complete, the Department will assess what, if any, additional steps are necessary to address any issues identified by that review.”

Reviewing the evidence

• Between 2009 and 2013, Russia bought Canadian mining company Uranium One – eventually giving them control over 20% of American uranium (at the time. It’s around 10% now).
• Over roughly the same period, individuals involved in the Uranium One deal, including Russian nuclear officials, contributed over $140 million to the Clinton Foundation.
• Coincidentally, I’m sure, the Obama administration – and Clinton State Department in particular, approved the deal.
• The committee which approved the deal, the CFIUS, has been considered a “joke” for years, and a rubber-stamp committee of sorts.
• Thanks to a FOIA request discovery byTwitter user Katica (@GOPPollAnalyst) – who notably discovered Hillary Clinton’s IT guy ‘Stonetear’ asking Reddit users how to strip Clinton’s name from archived emails – we know that the FBI issued records retention requests to each member of the CFIUS which approved the Uranium One deal, weeks after the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email began, suggesting the discovery of potentially incriminating evidence.
• No uranium was to leave the United States under the terms of the original agreement, however the Obama administration approved the export of U1 uranium via a Canadian transport company.
• Tony Podesta of the quickly unraveling Podesta Group met with the Clinton Foundation regularly while he was lobbying for Uranium One, reportedly coordinating the Uranium One deal, a former executive of Podesta’s firm told Tucker Carlson.

Also notable is the 143% increase in weapons sales granted to Clinton Foundation donors by Hillary Clinton’s State Department, along with over 200 Bill Clinton speeches approved by the Obama admin State Dept. worth over $48 million. 

Whether or not the DOJ inquiry will turn anything up is a good question, as prosecuting potential Clinton crimes seem to be the last thing on Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ mind. He’d much rather jail people over a plant used by millions for medicinal purposes.

Connecticut-based hedge fund Bridgewater Associates just loaded up on gold – buying 3.3 million shares of the the SPDR ETF, GLD ($GLD), bringing his total position to 3.894 million shares of the paper derivative, worth around $473 million.

The shift into precious metals by the world’s largest hedge fund follows comments by founder Ray Dalio, who urged investors to buy gold in August in case “things go badly.” Until last quarter, Bridgewater didn’t own precious metals, until dipping their toes into Gold with a $68.1 million position in GLD, along with a $36.8 million position in Silver via the ETF $IAU.

Dialo increased his position in the Silver ETF, IAU by a whopping 266% from 3.1 million shares to 11.3 million.

After people started questioning the Washington Post’s not-so rock solid report on Roy Moore dating a 14 year old while he was in his early 30’s, a woman named Beverly Young Nelson held a press conference with feminist lawyer Gloria Allred – recounting in vivid detail how Moore allegedly sexually assaulted her in a car, choking and groping her before dumping her on the pavement.

Given the evidence at hand, Moore is all but done with politics – and will now retire in shame. His neighbors will gossip and his wife is sure to be kicked off the bridge club.

In response, the New York Times reports that the Trump administration is thinking of kicking Jeff Sessions to the curb, returning him to his Alabama Senate seat.

One idea now being discussed under this scenario, brought up by two different White House officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, would be for Gov. Kay Ivey of Alabama to immediately appoint Attorney General Jeff Sessions to what had been his seat when it becomes vacant again. Mr. Sessions remains highly popular among Alabama Republicans, but his relationship with President Trump has waned since he recused himself from the investigation of the role that Russia played in last year’s campaign.

As The Hill notes, “It is unclear how, if Moore is elected, the seat would become vacant.”

Judge Roy Moore is under siege from the mainstream media and political class after the Washington Post published sexual advancement allegations against the Alabama GOP Senate candidate.

Last Thursday the Washington Post accused Judge Moore of dating a 14 year-old girl in 1979.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters today that Moore should drop out of the race.

When asked if he believes the allegations, McConnell replied, “I believe the women, yes.”

On Monday afternoon, NRSC chairman Cory Gardner released a statement saying, “I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate and he should not run for office.”

It was the mid 1990’s. Dopey (now arrested) Prince Alwaleed and his right hand man Tarak Ben Ammar were managing Michael Jackson’s career for some reason, after Jackson left his managers Sandy Gallin and Jim Morey in 1996 for Alwaleed’s relatively unknown Kingdom Entertainment.

Through some connection, perhaps a mutual interest, (dopey) Prince Alwaleed, Michael Jackson, and Hollywood producer Gary Goddard went into business together building theme park attractions for children – after Alwaleed and Jackson invested in 50% of Goddard’s Landmark entertainment group in 1997. The King of Pop and the Prince who got popped explained at the time that their investment was done thanks to their mutual interest in “traditional family values and cultural diversity.”

Goddard – one of the defendants in the 2014 “X Men” pedophile case with director Bryan Singer, was accused last week of molesting an underage Anthony Edwards along with three of his friends.

Michael Jackson was arrested and acquitted of child molestation a few years later, while Gary Goddard was accused by actor Michael Egan of plying him with drugs and molesting him at around age 14 or 15 – a case Egan eventually withdrew.

Meanwhile Prince Alwaleed – the second largest investor in both Twitter and Citigroup (which picked Obama’s 2008 cabinet) – was arrested one week ago in a Saudi corruption crackdown. The fallen Prince stands accused of money laundering and other crimes.

The Saudi purge, which included 10 princes – one of whom was killed when he resisted, has resulted in the arrest of over 200 individuals, and represents a massive consolidation of power within the Kingdom.

Accuser Scott R. Brunton, who was 23 at the time of the alleged incident, says Takai brought him up to his apartment, got him drink, and woke up to Takei about to go to town on him:

Takei, as Brunton tells it, invited him to dinner and the theater. “He was very good at consoling me and understanding that I was upset and still in love with my boyfriend,” Brunton says. “He was a great ear. He was very good about me spilling my heart on my sleeve.”

The two men went back to the actor’s condo for a drink the same night. “We have the drink and he asks if I would like another,” Brunton recalls. “And I said sure. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that.”

But apparently a drunk 23 year old’s dick is, allegedly, fair game.

Second up on the Friday night accusation train is Anthony Edwards – who accused producer Gary Goddard of molesting him when he was 14.

Edwards, in an explosive new essay, claims that Goddard befriended him when he was 12 years old and proceeded to sexually molest him.

All these accusations are flying – what about due process?

With all these accusations flying around, one has to question the value of hearsay in the court of public opinion. During the 2016 election, nearly a dozen women came forward to accuse President Trump of sexual deviancy.Absent any evidence or corroboration, each of the accusers faded back into the shadows.

Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore was also recently accused of having inappropriate relationships with underage girls 38 years ago – however upon review of the accusers and the way the story came together, the claims are now dubious.

And now George Takei stands accused of groping a passed out drunk guy in his apartment in 1981 – a story apparently corroborated by several friends of the alleged victim.

So what’s the standard here in the absence of solid evidence?

Actor Jeremy Piven was recently accused of groping reality TV star Ariane Bellamar without her consent on two occasions, one of them allegedly on the set of Entourage. Piven vehemently denied the charge, offering to take a Polygrpah test to prove his innocence. Days later, actress Cassidy Freeman accused the actor of “predatory behavior,” and on Thursday, a third woman named Tiffany Bacon said Piven rubbed his dick on her without consent and ejaculated “all over my white turtleneck” in 2003.

Piven wrote in response to the allegations:

“We seem to be entering dark times — allegations are being printed as facts and lives are being put in jeopardy without a hearing, due process or evidence I hope we can give people the benefit of a doubt before we rush to judgment,” he wrote. “Continuing to tear each other down and destroy careers based on mere allegations is not productive on any level. I hope we can use this moment to begin a constructive dialogue on these issues, which are real and need to be addressed.”

Where do we draw the line when the cases aren’t so clear-cut and there’s a lack of evidence? One accuser? Two accusers? Several friends of the accusers? People who didn’t work for their accusers’ political enemies?

An air traffic controller at Charlotte Douglas International airport was arrested Friday and charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Paul George Dandan, 30, was booked in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $45,000 bond.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 30-year-old Paul George Dandan was charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction. He is currently being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $45,000 bond. The FBI said they are assisting Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police with their investigation and that they don’t anticipate federal charges to be filed against  Dandan at this time.

While the type of device Dandan was arrested for has yet to be revealed, the following is a definition of “Weapons of Mass Destruction” per Title 18 U.S.C. §2332a:

The FAA confirmed to NBC Charlotte that Dandan’s access to the airport has been terminated following his arrest.

In March of 2015, Dandan was arrested for assaulting a female.

From the outset, several aspects of the Washington Post‘s decades-old accusations of Roy Moore having inappropriate relations with four young women seemed off. In addition to odd circumstances surrounding the story’s origins, the accusers themselves – and even the WaPo journalist who wrote the story – have checkered pasts and political views which some could consider ulterior motives.

If the accusations against Moore are true, he needs to immediately step aside and exit politics – as both President Trump and, oddly, Mitch McConnell have stated. Moore has vehemently denied the charges.

How did the story come together?

As Radio host Mark Levin pointed out on his show last week that there are several aspects of the case which don’t really make sense. To recap; a Washington Post reporter overheard a rumor at a Roy Moore event in Alabama about Moore sexually abusing four girls 38 years ago, then found the women, interviewed them, and the rest is history.

Levin raised the following questions:

• How did the WaPo reporter know there were four women, who they were, and how to contact them?
• How is it that the reporter happened to overhear a rumor about four women who don’t know each other and have never met, yet the anonymous source the WaPo reporter ran into happened to know each girl’s story and how to contact them?
• Why hasn’t any of this been reported in Moore’s 38 years in politics? And why now – a month before an important election to fill Jeff Sessions’ senate seat?

Adding to the list of questionable circumstances is the revelation that one of Moore’s accusers, Debbie Gibson, worked as a sign language interpreter for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, and is actively campaigning for Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones.

Another Moore accuser, Leigh Corfman, has claimed “several pastors at various churches made sexual advances at her.” This 3x divorcee who has also filed for bankruptcy three times.

Purportedly Moore’s main accuser Leigh Corfman has had three divorces, filed for bankruptcy three times, and has been charged with multiple misdemeanors.

Posts on Moore's FB page indicate that Corfman, has claimed several pastors at various churches made sexual advances at her.

The Star reports:

She says that her teenage life became increasingly reckless with drinking, drugs, boyfriends, and a suicide attempt when she was 16.

As the years went on, Corfman says, she did not share her story about Moore partly because of the trouble in her life. She has had three divorces and financial problems. While living in Arizona, she and her second husband started a screen-printing business that fell into debt. They filed for bankruptcy protection three times, once in 1991 with $139,689 in unpaid claims brought by the Internal Revenue Service and other creditors, according to court records.

In 2005, Corfman paid a fine for driving a boat without lights. In 2010, she was working at a convenience store when she was charged with a misdemeanor for selling beer to a minor. The charge was dismissed, court records show.

The WaPo reporter who penned the article wrote fake check, according to an 2011 Red State report

Ms. McCrummen has a rather interesting criminal history herself, as public criminal records in multiple states stretching across 4 time zones have shown.

Ms. McCrummen’s criminal history began with North Carolina Case # 1992 CR 00654, a violation of the Article 19 – False Pretenses and Cheats section of the North Carolina Criminal Code. Ms. McCrummen was convicted of a crime punishable by up to six months of imprisonment for writing a hot check that was deemed worthless.

Last but not least, former Secret Service agent Doug Lewis (@umpire43) has made an unsubstantiated claim that a WaPo reporter named “Beth” offered a family friend $1000 to accuse Roy Moore, and that a tape of the offer is in the hands of the DA.

Again – if Roy Moore took advantage of four young women 38 years ago, it is reprehensible and he should face justice if at all possible. That said, several troubling aspects of the Moore accusations have come to light in the days since the report, casting what many feel is reasonable doubt on the entire thing.

Moore has denied the allegations and issued the following statement:

Longtime Podesta Group CEO and former Jeb Bush staffer, Kimberly Fritts, is leaving the firm to start her own lobbying operation, three Podesta Group staffers told Politico.

Tony Podesta, who co-founded the Podesta Group with brother John Podesta, announced his resignation last Monday – hours after Paul Manafort and his deputy, Rick Gates, surrendered to the FBI in connection to Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“Tony Podesta’s name had become a scarlet letter,” a Podesta Group staffer told Politico, speaking on condition of anonymity, adding “I expect a lot of the top talent will go with her.”

The Podesta Group had originally planned to reorganize under a different name under the direction of Fritts, however she announced her resignation during a Thursday staff meeting. Paul Brathwaite, a Podesta Group principal, said last week that he was leaving to start his own shop, Federal Street Strategies.

As Politico reported last week, the Podesta Group was “hustling to hang on to as many clients as possible,” amid two of the firm’s highest-paying clients, Oracle and Wells Fargo, jumping ship.

On the Fritts

Despite Fritts’s departure, her Podesta Group past may follow – as she is directly involved in the Russian influence scandal. Between 2012-2014, Fritts signed off on five FARA bi-annual supplemental statements which failed to disclose Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group’s use of a Ukrainian shell corporation to peddle Russian influence throughout Washington DC.

Fritts then retroactively filed a supplemental disclosure on April 12, 2017 that amended three years of omissions, which include the Podesta Group’s work with Paul Manafort and the Ukrainian shell corporation. (h/t MaryLander1109)

Deep Probe

Podesta and his now-disbanded firm are said to be a major focus in the Mueller investigation – with the DC lobbying shop identified as “Company B” in Manafort’s indictment.

As we reported two weeks ago, a former longtime Podesta Group executive who was extensively interviewed by Mueller’s Special Counsel, told Fox’s Tucker Carlson that Paul Manafort and the Podesta Group had worked together since at least 2011 to peddle a “parade” of Russian oligarchs throughout DC.

Manafort, who was reportedly at the Podesta Group’s DC office “all the time, at least once a month,” worked with Tony Podesta through a shell group called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU).

The executive also reported that Russia’s “central effort” was the Obama Administration. In order to get closer to the Clinton State Department – John Podesta reportedly recommended Clinton’s chief adviser at State, David Adams, for a job with the Podesta Group – giving the lobbying firm a “direct liaison” between the group’s Russian clients and Hillary Clinton’s State Department.

Uranium One

The David Adams hire fits hand-in-glove with with the timing of the notorious Uranium One deal – which ultimately saw 20 percent of American uranium sold over a period of several years to the Kremlin, after over $140 million was donated by Uranium One interests to the Clinton Foundation.

As part of the approval process for the transaction, the nine-member Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) – largely considered a joke – had to sign off. Curiously, internet researcher Katica uncovered documents obtained through a FOIA requiest which revealed FBI records retention requests to each member of the CFIUS who signed off on the Uranium One deal – weeks after the Clinton email investigation began.

“The committee almost never met, and when it deliberated it was usually at a fairly low bureaucratic level,” Richard Perle said. Perle, who has worked for the Reagan, Clinton and both Bush administrations added, “I think it’s a bit of a joke.” –CBS

Notably, the Podesta Group lobbied for Uranium One while failing to file as a foreign agent, with Tucker Carlson’s source revealing that Tony Podesta coordinated with a Clinton Foundation employee to discuss how to help the Russian-owned mining company.

Bribes, Kickbacks and Art

In addition to hiding behind shady accounting, the Podesta Group had no board oversight, and all financial decisions were reportedly made by Tony Podesta, said Tucker Carlson’s source, who added that “payments and kickbacks could be hard for investigators to trace,” describing a “highly secret treasure trove” which could be used to conceal financial transactions – including Tony Podesta’s vast art collection.

All of this, according to Carlson’s source, while Kimberly Fritts filed bogus FARA reports on behalf of the Podesta Group. It will be interesting to see if she emerges from Mueller’s probe unscathed.
