Texas investment firm Point Bridge Capital will be launching a pro-GOP / Pro-Trump ETF under the symbol $MAGA, available for purchase September 7. Per the Daily Caller, the fund will “invest in stocks that are highly supportive of federal Republican candidates including President Donald Trump.”
Founder Hal Lambert, CFA is a former Director at Credit Suisse, and was a Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan before that. He’s currently managing over $1 billion at Point Bridge.
During the 2016 election, he was a huge fundraiser for the Republican Party, throwing his support behind Ted Cruz as his finance co-chair – though he was reluctant to get behind Trump, who he hated, until later in the campaign.
So, he may have appropriated “MAGA” despite his former(?) status as a Never-Trumper, but Hal wants to make YOU money!

The ETF strategy starts with stocks in the S&P 500 and analyzes the political contributions of the employees and the company PACs. The top 150 Republican stocks based on their contribution data are then included in the ETF. Lambert, a major Texas Republican fundraiser, refers to the approach as “politically responsible investing.”
Lambert told TheDC the top five Republican contributors in the past two election cycles were: AT&T, Marathon Petroleum, Home Depot, Exxon Mobil, and Altria. “All of those stocks will be in the ETF,” Lambert said.
The top five Democrat contributors were: Alphabet (Google), Time Warner, Walt Disney, Apple, and Dish Network.

But is that really that bad? Dude, if Hitler discovered a nation of migrants built IPhones, Football beer and Nachos, he wouldn’t have bothered with all that holocaust stuff. We don’t need a president to unite together and save lives and help with the rescue effort… we’re already doing that on our own without a need for a “moral leader” which for some odd reason everyone seems to think that’s why we have a president… that’s the last thing we need, we have religion for that and How has that worked out? That does nothing but lead people over endless wars over imaginary friends and invisible lines of “holy land”…
Sure religion also inspires charity, selflessness, unity, giving, sharing missionary work and elevating high morals…. but clearly we’re more interested in fighting based upon what we imagine others may do, so let’S just ignore one side and be hyper partisan…
But when’s the last time anyone has been consistently right? The right thought Obama was a secret Muslim from Kenya sent to take over America and install a caliphate and intact Sharia Law and the Left thought Bush would declare Martial law, Trump would never win the primary, Trump would never beat Hillary, Trump would immediately kill all Jews including his own grandkids, favorite daughter and son in law and all their Jewish friends, and put them all in FEMA Camps like Alex Jones said… and if he didn’t that was only because secretly he was taking orders from Steve Bannon… I mean His son in law.. I mean Putin…. I mean voices in his head.
No one gets things right especially if they are partisan but it’s okay because everyone is stupid, not just you.
better yet, maybe we should all relax and realize there’s a really good chance People will continue to be absolutely terrible at predicting the future. As such, the people everyone thinks is crazy may actually be right. The crazy people suggesting a golden age and that everything will be fine in the midst of “chaos” (what does that mean like sometimes it’s cloudy and then the weather clears up and things get brighter and sunnier out of nowhere?) are perhaps the only sane ones?
Or maybe there will be ups and downs as there always have been and things will continue on?
