International relations are not about whether other nations adhere to the same standards of human rights as the U.S. does. There are tons of countries– China for one, and Trumpsters’ beloved Russia for another, which we have various dealings with, that do not adhere to our standards of human rights. Charitable foundations also routinely accept donations from the governments of countries which violate human rights. The money can still be used for good in various places.
