Malak al-Shehri, a social media star whose fans refer to as the “Saudi Rosa Parks,” and “rebel angel” (her first name means angel), was arrested yesterday by Saudi Authorities for “violations of general morals,” after a citizen reported her to the police. Al-Shehri’s crime? Being photographed while not wearing an oppressive Burqa in public, for which she received death threats over social media. She now sits in a jail cell.
“Riyadh police stress that the action of this woman violates the laws applied in this country,” police spokesman Fawaz al-Maiman told Agence France-Presse Monday without identifying the 21-year-old by name. “[Citizens must] adhere to the teachings of Islam.”

The mere existence of Sharia Law automatically means women and gays are at risk, and the liberal response has been to make symbols of oppression into fashion statements. While many Muslim regions are progressive, peaceful, and not in the stone age, according to Pew Research, over 75% or more of the Muslims in from Middle Eastern / North African countries want Sharia as the law of the land. Must I remind you that these are the exact regions that all those rapey Muslims Hillary wanted to import come from?
