Manchester Attack May Be Used To Justify Massive Orwellian Internet Crackdown In UK

Britain – arguably the most surveilled country in the world, is wasting no time capitalizing on tragedy and death to advance their Orwellian grip on UK society.

According to The Independent, if Theresa May is reelected on June 8th, the UK government is considering using the deadly Manchester bombing to implement advanced tools to filter, monitor and otherwise go full nanny-state on individual privacy – including a mandate that ISPs provide backdoors into personal communications devices – making them legally defensible.

“We will do this as soon as we can after the election, as long as we get back in,” The Sun said it was told by a government minister. “The level of threat clearly proves there is no more time to waste now.

“The social media companies have been laughing in our faces for too long.”

This comes 6 days after The Independent reported that Theresa May’s conservative party is planning a host of new internet regulations in order to ensure that there is no “safe space for terrorists to be able to communicate online.”

“Some people say that it is not for government to regulate when it comes to technology and the internet,” it states. “We disagree.”

May’s rules would also grant greater powers for the government to punish internet service providers (ISPs) who don’t comply with the new mandates.

Legislation would be introduced to protect the public from abuse and offensive material online, while everyone would have the right to wipe material that was posted when they were under 18. Internet companies would also be asked to help promote counter-extremism narratives – potentially echoing the government’s Prevent programme. There would be new rules requiring companies to make it ever harder for people to access pornography and violent images, with all content creators forced to justify their policies to the government. –Buzzfeed

Thinking about a mid-afternoon unemployed wank to some interracial midget porn? Nope.

The new rules would include laws that make it harder than ever to access pornographic and other websites. The government will be able to place restrictions on seeing adult content and any exceptions would have to be justified to ministers, the manifesto suggests.

And this is exactly why half of China connects to the internet through a VPN.

Once again the self destructive nanny-state caves to deadly political correctness – where alternative viewpoints are attacked and branded for presenting opinions that challenge carefully crafted state narratives, and offensive traditions are eradicated to make room for things like liberating hijabs.

Maybe this huge crackdown on hate speech and porn is designed to cater to the sensibilities of a growing population of easily offended Muslims in the UK?

And people wonder why nationalism is sweeping Europe.
