Peaches – well put. I didn’t realize I was ignoring some kind of deep seeded anti-Semitic sentiment on the right. Sure, there are bigots who support Trump, just like they would have supported Cruz, or Jeb!, or any other GOP nominee simply because of their fear of diversity. But there are also a ton of violent “kill whitey” BLM and La Raza racists on the left who are actively calling for a race war.
At the extremes of any ideology you have extremists. Most of them spout racist bullshit and bigotry, some burn down churches, and others fly planes into buildings. I think the important thing to look at is how those extremist views are embraced or rejected by the majority of those with shared values. In the case of Sharia law, 51% of “average” Muslims sampled by Pew agreed that using caveman religious texts to govern by murdering gays and subjugating women was OK.
When it comes to this finger pointing on this topic, I find it particularly hypocritical that the left embraces and protects militantly anti-Semitic Muslims while chastising the much smaller redneck contingency on the right.

1. that study was done in mostly Muslim countries.

3. Sharia law, whilst being a load of bullshit, means very different things for different people. It’s like asking Christians if they think governments should be ruled with Biblical laws… except Sharia has nothing to do with an old caveman book, and everything to do with crazy Arab middle eastern culture. Peaches, I don’t have time to reply in full, but I understand your point about generalizations and locale. I would just say that France and Germany have some major problems right now. I have friends and family who have experienced much of this directly, and the shift to Sharia compliance – which well intentioned – has created some horrific conditions. If that’s the future, I don’t want any part of it. Practicing whatever religion is fine. Mosques are fine. All of that’s fine. It’s a huge religion! My line in the sand is when governments start forcing people to accept a group of people with *known* violent criminals causing waves of chaos. Forced charity, forced acceptance, and forced to look the other way when the genuine reaction is outrage.
