If frivolous over-priced products are what the market demands than the market will produce frivolous over-priced products. How capitalism working exactly as is intended can be something that some commentators are pinning on liberals in this thread is beyond the pale.
I should also add that in a truly economic sense they are not over-priced at all but are likely priced after the firm producing them did extensive market research.
