So far, that is the case with the republican-led campaign to repeal Obama-era internet privacy rules. Your basic republitard can belch out the talking points about how Google and Facebook already watch everything they do, so what’s it matter if the internet service providers do the same?
Right? What does it matter, what’s another set of hands digging through your private possessions, NOT STEALING ANY OF THEM, but logging their details and selling the information to the highest bidder?

When Trump signed away privacy rules that would have stopped Comcast from logging your preferred toaster settings to their evil towers in Philadelphia, he sold you out to faceless corporations, immortal diseases roaming the earth. Faceless corporations, mind you, who completely control your ability to access the greatest invention of the 21st century, the big information bang, the internet. Internet service providers control it. Not Google, not yet at least.

Many websites block traffic coming from VPN gateways. Or Tor.

We are part of the equation. We are enabling these vampires by not protecting our privacy. We are responsible for our own actions. People need to start encrypting their communication, using Tor, avoiding social media, etc. The problem are also websites themselves that make access via Tor slow and difficult.

Is this info tied to a specific account? Can I buy my neighbors internet history so I can make fun of his porn searches or vice versa?
in theory the data should be anonymous. they could probably trace it back to your house with no problems and your computer through your Mac address.
best protection is to keep it with no password so you can blame a neighbour, a passing friend or a ghost. also try not to respect a routine or input voluntarily wrong and random data to your browsing habits to fuck with The Man. this process could be automated and sold to tin foil friends.
