Get Ready for Another Fun Week of Trading — The Pelican Room Reigns Supreme

This being the last week of September is supposed to be gentle, heading into the very ominous month of October — a month marred by horrible crashes and circumstances too grim to discuss here on this cheerful blog. What I wanted to do with this post is to reaffirm my belief that The Pelican Room, inside Exodus, is the single best resource for self directed traders, not just because of myself and my supernatural trading skills, but because of the overwhelming reservoir of wealth and knowledge collectively shared by a like minded hive — searching and scouring for opportunities with ceaseless energy.

Click on the link above and take a 7 day trial, only email is required. See what I’m talking about. For those who want to fiddle around with the algorithms for free, I’ve transferred the IP to FreeStockAlgos.com for the misers and the poor people who like to look at shiny things.

I’m roasting some fennel, leaks, and tomatoes now and will be eating light, since I intend on having a heavy dinner.

Later on tonight I’m sure there will be some news to discuss. For now, have a look at the top rated stocks in Exodus and wrap your head around the idea that CIEN is #1.

Get in Here and Name Your Top 5 Teevee Shows of All Time

I often have this discussion — because it’s so hard to pin down the best teevee shows of all-time. We’re in the golden age of television and the production levels are movie quality, as well as the scripts. We can harken back to the days of Seinfeld or even before that, say All in the Family or Three’s a Company, and suggest they were the best shows — but that’d be a lie, especially since it’s untruthful.

As much as I loved Seinfeld, I like Curb Your Enthusiasm more.

I’ve consumed way too much television for any living man and know far too much about this subject than usual. This is part of the joys of working from home, blogging fast into the warm summer nights. I get to waste away in front of the tube, immersing myself into world’s that I do not belong in, distractions designed to placate and entertain. There are few joys in this world: love, laughter, intrigue, taste, scent, and equanimity — might as well enjoy them while we can.

Here are my top 5 shows of all time, skewed heavily with a recency bias. This does not include mini-series, such as Band of Brothers. My tell is whether or not I’d like to see repeats of these shows now, if they were on teevee.

Game of Thrones
The Wire
Eastbound and Down
The Office
Rome

Rome is a tough one to include, especially since it only lasted for two seasons. But for the two seasons it aired on HBO, it was by far one of the best shows ever aired on tv. Naturally, I left out a lot of fantastic shows, such as Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Crown, Downton Abbey, Sherlock, House, House of Cards, Peaky Blinders, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, Supernatural, The Turn, Boardwalk Empire, Luther, Hannibal, Entourage, 24, Homeland, Twilight Zone, The Honeymooners, 30 Rock etc. Yes, I left out Sopranos on purpose.

What am I missing? VEEP? Never bothered to watch it.

Ripple Explodes to the Upside, CannabisFAGS BTFO, Fly Gets Back to Work

What a week. I am still a little upset over today’s 30% whipping at the gibbet in that DTEA. But I won’t think about anymore because it’ll just upset me.

I see Ripple is up 70% today. Whatever. Will traderFAGS edge lord back into cryptos now that TLRY has imploded? That’s a hard trade — lots of overhead resistance.

I want to get back to buying and selling normal stocks again. What better time than now, on a seemingly milquetoast afternoon session headlined by reports that Rod Rosenstein wanted to secretly tape Trump and have him removed from office because he’s mentally fucking ill.

My UBNT is working and I just bought some WK — nothing too major. I am 75% cash and comfortable drifting into the weekend as a man of leisure who drinks gimlets in his spare time, to taper down the harshness of the hot smoke emanating from his estate pipe.

I hope you have a gay weekend and have enough time to see some of those moving pictures. Perhaps if you’re bored, you can go for a stroll in the park, or maybe even go for a ride on your horse.

Cashed Out of Cannabis Stocks — Heavy Cash Into Weekend

I got clubbed to the tune of 30% in DTEA, a stock that held for about an hour. Some people hold onto stocks that treat them like that, so violently, so soon, because they’re still in shock. But a 30% loss in 10 minutes is the same as 10 days. The loss happened fast and I really didn’t have much time to react. The prime reason to sell is distraction. I do not want to be reduced to box watching a position or emotionally invested in it. I took a shot. It failed. I move on.

Because of the rout underway in CBD stocks, I opted out of all but one today.

Here are my results:

ZYNE +12%
IIPR +11%
TRPX +9%

The sad part about those gains above is they were offset by the DTEA. Whatever.

I’m mostly cash now, actually 80% — chilling out and thinking about eating something delicious now.

It Was Bound to Happen — Tea Bagged in Cannabis Play

When the bottom falls out — it really falls. I’ll spare you the cliches and inventive catch phrases that attempt to educate, cornily. I am buying shit stocks; ergo, as an extension of that, I am bound to get caught in a ruinous trade.

As such, I have two stocks tumbling on me now, TPRX and DTEA. The DTEA ran through my mental stop and I’ll likely close out the position today and curse myself for believing in pot tea. On the other hand, my IIPR is racing nicely, an excellent REIT on cannabis retail locations. Go fucking figure.

We’re all blood and guts, some of us more guts than blood. Ultimately, we all spill out guts and bleed out. My time is not now — too disciplined for ruin. But if you’re not careful, the most greedy amongst you will get poleaxed and checked out of the game playing these cannabis stocks.

Remember, when the ride ends — it ends. No fucking getting back on the damn thing. Walk away.

Who Wants a Mug of Marijuana Tea in the Morning?

The breakfast of champions — pot laced tea. What can go wrong, aside from a plunge in productivity.

Today’s stock rumor mill is DTEA, believed to be in the process of exploring the possibility to sell CBD tea. The evidence comes from Reddit and Twitter, with online sleuths putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

People are thinking DTEA is the next NBEV. Whatever. I’m long and bought it up here, in the $4.50s. Why? Why not?

Reminder: Cannabis Craze is a Bubble

I’m not calling a top and will probably never try to. I’ve learned my lesson over the year with trying to call tops. But, and let this be reminder 1,001, when stocks go parabolic like this CBD infused rally — it’s dangerous to buy into the momo. There will be an inflection point and all of the hot money will quickly vacate the sector, leaving bag holders to die a filthy and a fat death.

You should play the space, but do so with dignity and limit your position sizes to under 10% per transaction.

I know, some of you are pathetic pikers with 4 figs in the market. The max you should go is 20-25%, anything more than that is simply gambling, which is fine if you’re okay with losing everything.

Maxim is out with a downgrade this morning on NBEV. I’ve got another one coming later.

It’s Time to Delve into Israeli Cannabis In An Attempt to Front Run

The two stocks I am about to show you are risky and small capped pieces of shit. If it weren’t for the recent craze in stocks like TLRY, CRBP, NBEV, CRON, GWPH, CGC and others, I wouldn’t bother with them. The attempt here is to get in before others find ancillary cannabis plays. Both of these companies are working on cannabinoid styled pain management drugs and both are located in Israel — a fine country if it weren’t for the fact that, like the Chinese, almost everything deriving from it is a scam.

That being said, I bought small position in BLRX and TRPX, not for the money, but for the sport.

Amazon Unveils A Bunch of New Shit For the House

I was able to fetter away into a dark corner of my house, after scrubbing the toilets clean, to report news that Amazon is going to start selling a bunch of shit for the household, and also one thing for the car.

The most retarded electronic device will be the Amazon microwave, which I will buy because it’s $59 and I’d like my friends to be jealous of it.

Also, they’re gonna sell some Alexa styled thingy for the car, a receiver, sub woofer, and also much better and louder Echo speakers.

One other thing is household security — they’re doing that too. Read about all of these pleasant things, and more, here.

I see stocks bouldering higher — flattening out all semblances of bears. I’m 70% cash, so effectively not participating. That’s all well and good, since I have a mind for being idle during periods of transition. The SAAS sector isn’t so hot today and a lot of momo money is still in pot and also alt energy plays. Everyone is now searching for new pot plays, reminiscent of the blockchain days. I should probably do some more research and tell the wife to quit ham and egging me. “The Fly” has a destiny to fulfill and shouldn’t be subjugated to a third class life filled with toil and unnecessary labour.

Dealing With Missed Opportunities

Just yesterday I had 10% of my account in NBEV. Heading into the day I had intended to place another 5% in — upping it to 15%. But because TLRY ran hard and made NBEV run too, I opted to sell — believing yesterday would be a blow off top. Many of the pot stocks exhibited blow off top moves yesterday, which further entrenched my belief that I made a good decision. In hindsight, it was a dreadful one — a fleeting idea that I now regret, miserably. I gained 44% and have never hated it more than I do now — gawking at the stock drifting above $7 like a wave, luring all sorts of pikers into the stock who now know what I knew weeks ago.

Had I held, my gains would now be in excess of 200%. Truth is, this has happened to me numerous times in the past, especially when I’m trading and ripping out profits. The essence of trading successfully is to be disconnected from the logo you’re trading. A profit in NBEV is no different from a profit in GE; you take it when you can and don’t bitch about it later.

I have company visiting House Fly today, so I’m in host mode and have been tasked with scrubbing toilets very diligently and very beautifully. After that, I’ll be tasked with mopping the floors, vacuuming the rugs, and of course cleaning the exterior of the automobiles in the drive way. Do not live my life — it’s not worth the effort. Get out there and make a bunch of money and travel to Ireland — get drunk and fall asleep in the streets. Getting old isn’t for the young and being young is often taken for granted. You won’t know how stupid you are until it’s too late.

Ciao.
