GPRO will 100% beat 4th quarter earnings and then be the best short of the year as it trades down to 2x sales. Good job to their CEO pushing through all their inventory to have a blow out quarter, all the while donating his shares to a charitable trust whilst telling others not to sell. What a dolt.

The difference between myself and the other shorts is that I have ridden this name long till recently and will wait till after the blowout quarter to finally short.
Moreover, those “shorts” calling for $40 on lock up expiration are lunkheads. If they had talked to anyone who knows the CEO they would have known that no one was gonna sell in substantial quantities.
Go short a 3-d printer company with zero revenues. I don’t understand the obsession with shorting popular trends.
God willing, GPRO gets back to $90, more meat on the bones than a stupid 3-d printing company.
Also, I am the last person to obesses about shorting “popular trends” ..I would rather ride the trend, makes my life much easier. But, GPRO is a special situation. Between actions of the CEO during this quarter to boost earnings, lack of proprietary products that are meaningful or actually worth anything substantial, and his actions in sneakily getting rid of his shares, a long-dated put spread is in order.
Other than that, you’re right. Most shorts are dicksuckers.

Some shorts believed it was going to $20 after the lock up, someone even said it will be as cheap as a gallon of gas! Personally, I welcome all the microbes to short this, I`d love to see a 15% squeeze when it`s $100. Squeezes down here are no fun!

I did pretty good with my GPRO puts. I did get a little burned getting some Christmas Eve, stopped out pretty quick. I’ve moved on to TSLA anyways.
There is a real long con feel starting to hit the tape. Some gems blowing the fuck up include “Shale revolution” “BRIC’s” “Emerging markets” “Alternative Energy” “Nat Gas anything”. Future long cons? Throw a dart at any hype tech. Social media and cyber security are all you hear about on the old people evening news. This time could be different though.
