I am in a new hotel, one that does not promote prolific smoking of cigarettes in non smoking rooms. Looking over my silver stocks, they are dead and buried. Shares of AG, NGD and EXK have met their maker. However, all of my other shit is doing quite well. Hence: the dichotomy.
I just added to my AG position and I started a new one in OPEN about an hour ago. My BORN, FORM and CENX positions are doing swell, allowing for my losses to be muted. Also, APC and CLR are only down a smidge. The root and very foundation of my frustration is the sheer fact that I could have avoided losing any money today, had I been in the office, instead of this southern town of shit.
I want you to understand where I am coming from, for I will not repeat myself. I have no respect for money. I like money and make it a point to make a lot of it. However, I spit on it. Therefore, when I see losses, they do not bother me. As a matter of fact, they encourage me to do better.
I could have done better and should have known to not overweight oil,gold,silver into middle eastern falafel dances.
My personal account took another slap chop to the neck today, thanks in large part to AG. I’ve made arrangements to turn around my fortunes, in the immediate term.

As I sit here, enjoying the BROKEN ROBOT tape, I am reminded of late 2003, when The Fly was coming off a banner year—long a shit load of semis. When discussing the markets, I was an authority, as many others attached themselves to me, similar to small fish on a shark.
Then 2004 came and raped me, inside of a short week.
I remember it (the rape), as if it happened yesterday. I was leveraged to the gills, long semis, and did not think about risk. Next thing you know, by the third week of January, I was 10% in the hole (not a good feeling). It took many months to make back that 10% and shake off the mental rape.

Have you been to Titusville lately? It’s basically done already. I stayed there for a week or so last summer. Most shopping malls (Apollo era) are closed down and empty. It’s a run down town that feels too big for its sleepy population already. I read a plaque there somewhere that talked about a guy named Titus who won the right to name the town thanks to a good poker hand. Hilarious! Can’t do that kind of thing nowadays.
I get there maybe only once a year or so and yes it is dumpy and always has been.
Some years are better than others but the town is going to be real bad now that the aerospace companies have pulled out.
It is the county seat so there will at least be some activity.
That Miracle City Mall off US (less) 1 has always been a dump.
It’s a shame since the town has some decent real estate along the water.
There will be an increase in commercial launches (SpaceX in particular) over the next while. Of course, this is no where near the jobs program that shuttle is, but to start with, SpaceX has over 100 jobs there from what I’ve heard, and if they manufacture the Falcon-X, or the Falcon-XX, there is a strong possibility that this would occur in Florida. If commecial space gets their launch rate up a lot, then it might offset a lot of the local slow-down. A bigelow space hotel would only increase the activity.
Who the hell needs or wants private rocket launches, besides “SpaceX”?
