As I sit here, enjoying the BROKEN ROBOT tape, I am reminded of late 2003, when The Fly was coming off a banner year—long a shit load of semis. I walked around the office with such confidence and spent absurd amounts of coin on cases of champagne, for select friends and colleagues to enjoy during New Year’s festivities. When discussing the markets, I was an authority, as many others attached themselves to me, similar to small fish on a shark.
Then 2004 came and raped me, inside of a short week.
I remember it (the rape), as if it happened yesterday. I was leveraged to the gills, long semis, and did not think about risk. Next thing you know, by the third week of January, I was 10% in the hole (not a good feeling). It took many months to make back that 10% and shake off the mental rape.
Well, during 2009, the bears have been mentally raped, falling victim to even more “rapeage” in recent weeks. While the dollar climbs, so does the market, creating a perfect sublime harmony of short squeezes across various industries.
Gentlemen, this is “The Santa Claus Rally.” If you bet against it, you have been raped. I am so sorry for your loss.
Into the bell, OmniVision Technologies, Inc. [[OVTI]] intrigues me, due to insane demand of the iPhone. Just in case you are stupid, OVTI supplies cameras to Apple Inc. [[AAPL]] .
After kicking around dozens of stocks, I have settled on three stocks, worth building around: Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (ADR) [[CTRP]] , Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. [[GMCR]] and Sears Holdings Corporation [[SHLD]] aka “The Trifecta TeaBag” for overzealous short sellers.

History repeats.
Believe me, I am thinking about that.
I thought “teabagging” was homo?
_______
teabag for the shorts, my good man.
Whomever….
Are there large short positions in those stocks?
___
monster. You should know the short positions of all “fad” stocks. Come one Jake, you are disappointing me.
Hmmm… first “Graham,” now… “monster”….
(must think of something equally egregious… squeezing eyes shut, concentrating… concentrating…..ah!)
Beannie,
I try not to get involved with “fad” stocks. But a large short position would certainly intreuge me.
__________
Monster as in monster short positions. You are very sensitive, dear Jakey. Perhaps you need to chillax over at some quiet website for a few hours?
Ah, what are “Graham short positions,” then? 😉
No need for feurther “chillaxing,” as I am on my second bier at the Cards hoop game.
We are up 27-19 with seven to go in the first half.
Our weurthy opponents? None other than RC’s Ragin’ Cajuns.
__
Yeah, he’s had a bad attitude (attacking posters) ever since he started shorting the market ….
ROFL!
(this one doesn’t like the recent rhetorical poleaxing to his liberal foundations, as it’s clear to even the simplest that I am equally obstreperous with everyone, at all times.).
Short the market? Not even close. I am 25% long right now, even with all my hedges.
Cluebat.

Teabagging is a euphemism for short selling.
I’l alert the GLBT Media.
_______
Possibly and I will be severely lightening up next week on that assumption.
The Week of the Assumption’s not til August, I’m pretty sure.
_________
August 15th to be precise.
Holy mackeral! Do you have a Liturgical Calendar at your fingertips or are you THAT good?
Never mind,I hereby dub thee “Cardinal Boo Boo.”
_
Poor Santa.
How much will you raise your cash position before EOY?
Also, this is the second time I’ve seen this old Nat King Cole video.
Can you PLEASE tell me what that THANG is hanging behind him?
Why is it even there for crying out loud.
If I told you, his ghost would rise and eat your brains.
Still want to know?
I’ll take that chance.
Hey Fly, question: is there a deeper theory when you talk about raping the shorts? Does the percentage of short sellers relative to the float have a large impact on how you view a stock? I’m just trying to get a better idea of what you look at when making your picks (although it seems to change constantly)
If you joined The PPT you’d have your answer.
cool i’m definitely going to this site is awesome
Do you want more stamina in the bedroom/boardroom? Read The V.King Blog everyday Monday thru Friday’s in 2010….I do. Henry Cassell Long Beach,Cal

____
I sold my entire position in VZ for a 13% gain. It pains me but I needed to raise cash and the stock’s prospects don’t feel as good as the other positions I’m holding.
Mr Fly:
Your posts more often than not always refer to the idiot short sellers. Is it your belief that most of the posters here are short?
I thought most here are on the long side.
Who said I was talking to people on this thread.
Each and every day I direct my venom towards someone different.
Jan 4 is the first trading day of 2010. Though the first week of January may be an
up week ( to create the “First Week of January (Psuedo) Indicator ) I have this gut feel that Jan 4 will be a DOWN REVERSAL DAY.
Sell half your shit at 10AM (especially the resource stocks) and expect a down-reversal day. It may not come. If not, SELL EVERYTHING on Friday Jan. 8 and buy yourself some index puts.
First quarter of 2010 is gonna be PAINFUL. And I have been a bull here on this BB. I will be a “90% cash” bull during Quarter One of 2010. BTW: Gold will drop below $1000.
If we break, there may not be a reversal.
Money managers will want to be long (most stuff), but especially the resource stocks which have led the 9-month rally. They want to show off a snazzy 2009 year-end report.
But by Mon. Jan 4, their feet will get the chillblains, and the rush to the exit for Q1 – 2010 will begin.
Chilblains!
Dude, we could halve your age and you’d still be over the limit. 😉
_____
At least you spelled chilblains right. Does 37.5 qualify for senility here?
Expect the unexpected.
Like a pomegranate up and just exploding in your face.
Or juiced up anti-PRC bets (via FXP) and shorting olive oil (via NBG) suddenly reversing and eating into my’ “spread the high Latin Mass” profits over the last couple days.
God forbid I am stopped out on Christmas Eve…
Hot peace to all on this very Godly site.
well played, playa
