By the Authority Vested in Him, President Obama Declares June to Be Transvestite Pride Month

Technically, it’s gay month, as a whole. Being that the ‘T’ stands for transvestite, I allowed myself the authority, which was vested upon this blog, to title it the way I deemed fit.

It’s worth noting, I will not willingly enter a government controlled re-education camp. I’d rather be HARAMBE’d.

I don’t even know what to say about this. It all just seems very gay to me.

Presidential Proclamation — LGBT Pride Month, 2016

LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH, 2016

– – – – – – –

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

Since our founding, America has advanced on an unending path toward becoming a more perfect Union.  This journey, led by forward-thinking individuals who have set their sights on reaching for a brighter tomorrow, has never been easy or smooth.  The fight for dignity and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people is reflected in the tireless dedication of advocates and allies who strive to forge a more inclusive society.  They have spurred sweeping progress by changing hearts and minds and by demanding equal treatment — under our laws, from our courts, and in our politics.  This month, we recognize all they have done to bring us to this point, and we recommit to bending the arc of our Nation toward justice.

Last year’s landmark Supreme Court decision guaranteeing marriage equality in all 50 States was a historic victory for LGBT Americans, ensuring dignity for same-sex couples and greater equality across State lines.  For every partnership that was not previously recognized under the law and for every American who was denied their basic civil rights, this monumental ruling instilled newfound hope, affirming the belief that we are all more free when we are treated as equals.

LGBT individuals deserve to know their country stands beside them.  That is why my Administration is striving to better understand the needs of LGBT adults and to provide affordable, welcoming, and supportive housing to aging LGBT Americans.  It is also why we oppose subjecting minors to the harmful practice of conversion therapy, and why we are continuing to promote equality and foster safe and supportive learning environments for all students.  We remain committed to addressing health disparities in the LGBT community — gay and bisexual men and transgender women of color are at a particularly high risk for HIV, and we have worked to strengthen our National HIV/AIDS Strategy to reduce new infections, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.

Despite the extraordinary progress of the past few years, LGBT Americans still face discrimination simply for being who they are.  I signed an Executive Order in 2014 that prohibits discrimination against Federal employees and contractors on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.  I urge the Congress to enact legislation that builds upon the progress we have made, because no one should live in fear of losing their job simply because of who they are or who they love.  And our commitment to combatting discrimination against the LGBT community does not stop at our borders:  Advancing the fair treatment of all people has long been a cornerstone of American diplomacy, and we have made defending and promoting the human rights of LGBT individuals a priority in our engagement across the globe.  In line with America’s commitment to the notion that all people should be treated fairly and with respect, champions of this cause at home and abroad are upholding the simple truth that LGBT rights are human rights.

There remains much work to do to extend the promise of our country to every American, but because of the acts of courage of the millions who came out and spoke out to demand justice and of those who quietly toiled and pushed for progress, our Nation has made great strides in recognizing what these brave individuals long knew to be true in their hearts — that love is love and that no person should be judged by anything but the content of their character.  During Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, as Americans wave their flags of pride high and march boldly forward in parades and demonstrations, let us celebrate how far we have come and reaffirm our steadfast belief in the equal dignity of all Americans.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2016 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.  I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirty-first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fortieth.

Congrats to all of you pole smokers out there.

Fresh From the Golf Course: Chip ‘Checkered Pants’ Wilson Pens Letter to $LULU Shareholders

Get the fuck out of here with this shit. The founder of Lululemon, banned from its offices, Chip ‘checkered pants’ Wilson, penned a letter to shareholders today. The stock is spiking on this news. This stock is so insanely overvalued, for a moat-less business, it’s amazing to see it trading with a 6 handle.

Maybe that’s why I’m a full time blogger and Jeff Macke is the King of Retail (he nailed this years ago at the 1st annual iBC conference in Vegas).

“As many of you know, I founded lululemon and remain its largest shareholder with almost 14.2% of the company’s shares. I asked the Board to allow me 10 minutes to address my fellow shareholders at this year’s annual general meeting. They denied me that opportunity. Had I been given the opportunity, this is what I would have said: I love lululemon and its employees and remain its biggest believer and supporter. No one is more aligned and focused on shareholder value creation. I am confident that with the right management, Board stewardship and capable execution, lululemon can return to greatness and all shareholders will see exponential returns. Unfortunately, lululemon has lost its way and I believe a call to action is needed. I feel strongly that our current Board and management team must clearly articulate and execute a strategy with urgency towards regaining lululemon’s competitive advantage and profitable growth and they must take responsibility.”

Declassify the board: “This Board and management have not created shareholder value in three years. Boards are responsible for choosing the right CEO. This Board needs to be responsive to its shareholders. In that regard, I am asking the Board to act in accordance with 90% of companies in the S&P 500 and declassify the Board.”

“In closing, as a long-term investor in lululemon, I am uncomfortable with the lack of urgency, stewardship and performance of our great company. I have not heard a strategy nor seen actions that lead me to believe we will regain our competitive position and secure long-term returns. This is unacceptable and the Board needs to understand that I — indeed all shareholders — will be watching closely.”

Stocks Reverse Triple Digit Losses; Crude Paves the Way

Anywhere I go, I find myself looking at ceilings, examining water stains and cracks. Often times, I dream of water seeping through the ceiling, perhaps a paranoia of mine–one of many eccentricities that the readers of this site have to deal with. The alarm bells have been ringing for some time now, yet stocks have denied the bears their ‘fair share’ at every turn.

Once again, stocks have erased earlier losses, thanks to a sharp reversal in crude. Bear in mind, the OPEC womanizers will be departing from their harems shortly to discuss the important matter of crude oil soon. Everyone is on edge. You can almost cut the tension with a knife.

As for me, I’ve been, sort of, floating about the house, in my white robe and sandals. I’ve lit some incense and have been playing soundtracks on my vinyl record player, of a menacing genre, to no end. I’ve abandoned a 7 figure job for the pleasures of full time blogging, retweeting the articles of fucktards, and laughing at memes all day.

Life is wonderful. And then you have the nerve to ask me why I think markets will drop?

I have never…ever.

Faber: Stocks to Fall, the Dollar Will Collapse

CNBC interviewed another person with an acute mental disorder today. This time, they brought out giggling Marc Faber, fresh out of the asylum. Amongst other things, Marc believes stocks will fall, gold will rise, Vietnam will flourish, and the dollar will collapse–but not necessarily against other currencies (whatever the fuck that means).

Much to my surprise, the batshit Faber has 25% of his assets in stocks. Not that it should surprise anyone, given that he’s a lunatic and all. He’s only been calling for the end of western finance for 20 years now. Why not go along for the ride, just for shits and giggles?

One last distressing fact, Marc is a resident on the ark, an ardent buyer and supporter of U.S. treasuries.

Copper Falls to Three Month Lows on China Worries

There’s lots of rumbling going on regarding the Chinese credit markets, into a Fed hike, and their prospects for growth. This can be viewed, granularly, through the price action of copper.

She’s at 3 month lows.

image

Major copper producer and poster child for everything commodity related, FCX, is getting hammered to pieces.

image

Separetly, it appears Exodus was right about the internet being overbought. Overall, the decline in markets would be considered somewhat benign if it weren’t for the fact that copper and oil were very weak, and bonds were very strong.

The next level to watch for copper is $2.00.

Markets Slide; Bonds Ride

Sorry that was very corny. But that’s life when your only position is a fucking government bond. This month’s dividend for TLT reduced my cost basis to $119.37. Not bad for a boring bond that is supposed to tank because the Fed is hiking and stocks are so fucking awesome.

image

This is the easiest money I ever made.

Expect the tone to get bearish, as the Fed and BREXIT vote looms. I’m not trying to urinate on your parade. Truly, I’m not. I’m trying to soil on it.

Crude is the standout here, off by 2.3%.

Gang Style Turf Wars Taking Place Between New York’s Iced Cream Trucks

The NY Times ran an article this morning highlighting the turf battle between Mister Softee and New York Iced Cream trucks, something I never knew existed.

As a child, I viewed the iced cream truck guy as sanctimonious. Little did I know, there was a dark, sinister side to him, territorial, like an organized crime racket.

Mister Softee says he has been muscled out of Midtown.

New York Ice Cream, staffed by drivers who used to cover Midtown Manhattan for Mister Softee, has had the area locked down for at least a year, Mister Softee said. The renegade is enforcing its dominance with threats and intimidation that sometimes get physical.

“If one of my drivers goes to Midtown, they’ll bring their trucks in and surround them — a bunch of guys,” said Peter Bouziotis, who runs the Softee depot in the Bronx, which covers Manhattan. “They’ll start banging on the windows.”

At the corner of 40th Street and Seventh Avenue in Times Square, a New York Ice Cream man in the window of his purple-trimmed white truck was unapologetic.

“From 34th to 60th Street, river to river, that’s ours,” he said on a recent afternoon, moments after handing a chocolate cone to a delighted-looking little boy. The vendor would not allow his name to be published for fear of losing his job.

“You will never see a Mister Softee truck in Midtown,” he continued. “If you do, there will be problems, and you won’t see him there very long.”

Boxing in a Softee truck so the driver cannot do business. Getting up in his face. Grabbing his collar and delivering some unsolicited advice.

“Happens all the time,” the New York Ice Cream man said.

New York Ice Cream’s founder, Dimitrios Tsirkos, did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Mister Softee’s vice president, Jim Conway, said the company had urged its drivers to retake the heart of the city, to no avail.

“Corporately, we would love to see people go in there; we consider it wide open territory, and anyone would do great selling there,” Mr. Conway said. “The issue is that people just fear for their safety.”

Every truck has a baseball bat inside of it. The human species is a plague.

Goldman Taking an Ax to Investment Banking

In addition to the cuts made in trading, Goldman is said to be in the process of culling its investment banking division, from New York to Hong Kong. It’s funny, I was just talking to a friend of mine who does a lot of deals at Citi and he lamented to me about how horrible things were. Not only deal flow was horrible, but the quality of deals and new restrictions are making it impossible to make a living.

The investment-banking cuts represent a reversal from 2015 for a unit that was the top-ranked merger adviser during that near-record year and produced the most profit among Goldman Sachs’s four operating segments. Completed mergers worldwide have plunged more than 80 percent so far this year, while equity offerings have dropped about 65 percent

That 65% drop in offerings is pretty much a 65% pay cut for many guys and gals in investment banking. The bond desks aren’t doing much better. Interestingly, Bank of America is expanding their wealth advisor platform, as a way to grow revenues. Essentially, this is a 180 reversal from what we’ve seen happen at the investment banks over the past 20 years. Instead of eschewing advisors like the plague, due to their limited upside and slow growth business models, banks have no choice but to embrace them now, since the debt and deal departments are scorched earth.

$CRM ACQUIRES $DWRE FOR $75, ALL CASH DEAL

This is the second software deal in as many days, both taking place in the mid cap sector. Salesforce must really want Demandware, buying them out at a massive premium for $2.8 billion.

The negotiations probably went something like this.

‘We like your company. We’ll buy it at the all time high, all cash.,

‘Okay.’

image

Here are some other mid cal software names, courtesy of Exodus, which might catch a bid today, given the merger mania in the space.
