I woke up to the SEC fucking with a stock I just bought yesterday and now I’m conceding victory to the Russians — selling out from my RUSS position. Moreover, I sold my FRANKENFOOD disaster, RKDA, which is also sharply lower. This is a day of infamous happenings for me, marked by bad luck and bad trading.
The proceeds are in cash and deserve to rest there for a while, since I obviously have no idea what I’m doing here.
Today’s gains are industrial: steel, iron, copper, oil, trucks, services. It has a macro feel to it, suggestive of an American economy about to take off. Alas, it’s just one stinking day and I will not get lassoed into its web.
The weakest of all the sectors is tech. Are we finally going to rotate out of tech and into something else?
What the fuck do I know? I haven’t the slightest clue what I’m doing right now.

Russia has a winning strategy. Putin, hoarding gold, de-dollarizing, silk road, their alternative to SWIFT, and oil. It’s the equivalent of alpha-MGTOW.

At some point it’s just a distressed asset and you just ask yourself what is the probability it goes to zero? Rarely happens, but both China and Russia have gone to zero.
It probably wont go to zero, so I just plug my nose and buy.

Maybe, but remember it’s not a good idea to blindly follow God and give up free-will an original thinking.
The other parallel is that $AMZN will pay dividends only as long as people like you believe that. I’m sure you, like most other stockholders, would be willing to sell $AMZ at $10,000/share, but never $100/share. So there is some part of you that understands that the value is between those numbers. However, by not having any idea or plan of what that actual value is, you are just setting yourself up for others (ie, Wall Street sharks) to do that for you. Good Luck.

I find that the rapid growth of AMZN AWS (and it’s brand-buildign but low/no proft retail) iis only outpaced by the growth of its stock price.
So I disagree with your theory, but like the strategy used to implement it.

You also realize that thes 4 horsmen make 4 times the net income of Amazon, right? and that both GOOG and MSFT are AMZN cloud-computing compettitors?
There’s a reason that those stocks are so big. XOM, WMT, and other non-tech giants seem like better hedges for the long term, although there lower beta will make them less effective at limiting losses in a market downturn
I don’t really care much about AMZN numbers next week (I doubt they will surprise in either direction), but will keep an eye on the reaction to see if people are still true believers or not.
