I sold SQQQ today, basically at the lows, even chided some faggot on Twitter about buying it, and then went to spend a few hours building a Rube Goldberg trading device. When I got back, markets had already collapsed and my fucking clothes fell off from the shock of it all. So here I am, a very naked Fly before you, bereft of trading acumen — just a guy and his fucking Rube Goldberg trading device.
Stocks are plunging lower after President Trump seized power and placed Homeland’s Carrie Mathison in charge of the CIA — charged with waterboarding people for sport. Also, he placed an anti-Iranian spook in charge of the CIA — which is the equivalent of placing an auto mechanic in charge of flying an airplane. Couple that with Trump’s protectionist policies in America’s steel industry and one gets to think he’s preparing to take the country into a gigantic fucking war.
Three places of solace are dollars, treasuries, gold. In my quant account, I am long both TLT and GLD — other than that I am taking hits.
In my trading account, I have a handful of positions and mostly cash. People who do not know how to read a tape should always be in cash, so that is where I am until I learn how to trade again.
