Russia’s side of the story claims Syria bombed a terrorist depot, which stored the chemical weapons. The destruction of the facility caused the poisonous gas to be released into the city. Many believe it wasn’t sarin, but chlorine-based gas — due to the way first responders were dealing with the deceased (without protective gear). Either way, the verdict is in and preparations for war are underway.
Sec. Tillerson is scheduled to visit Russia tomorrow. The Kremlin has not said whether Putin will meet with him or not.

Basically they are conservative nationalists and so there is some affinity for eastern europe and Russia among this segment of the Trump base because Russia and eastern Europe is a nationlists stronghold and Germany and western Europe is a globalist stronghold so the east are somewhat natural allies for them. I think part of the frustration with the Syria strikes is it unnecessarily puts us at odds with Russia. It seems that the east’s brush with total marxism has inoculated it from the current craze of cultural marxism that is rampaging through the west.
