I just learned that there are people out there who invest 2 figures into the stocked market. I imagine these people were lured into the market by that fucking Scotted Trade helicopter, or maybe they wanted to be an “OptionMONSTER”? Either way, these people are reprehensible to me. They go out into the market place and buy like 3 shares of GLW or 1 option contract, while wearing their Gordon Gekko costumes.
What the fuck is wrong with you people, spending lunch money in the market and shit?

If all one can afford to invest is two figures, buying one option contract is not a bad idea. Sort of like going to Las Vegas. As long as you know that you are most likely just throwing away money on a gamble, no problem.
Of course, since the market goes sideways or up most of the time, it’s better, on average, to buy a bullish contract than a bearish one.
We all have our limits. And if 2 figures is someone’s limit, well, why shouldn’t they try a long shot bet on some stock horse? As long as it’s money that they can spare and they won’t end up living out in the street if it’s lost.
It’s what life’s about: Doing the best you can with what you’ve got.
I once had a teacher in highschool that would announce grades and whenever someone failed he would say “Fraaaaaaaaaank.”
$99 bucks on a stock trade thru Scottrade is $14 bucks round trip commish. You’ll never go anywhere when you need 14.15% profit just to cover you for break even.

For stocks, that would be insanity. I guess not too bad if free commissions, but still a waste of a free commission…
For options, I just can’t agree. For stocks above $100 on same week calls, you can make a killing even with a few shitty $20 options. I buy those lotto tickets every once in a while. OA calls them YOLOs but he obviously drops more than $100 on his lotto tickets sometimes. 🙂
