I marvel at you political hacks, sullying our President because he’s “too weak” for letting Putin “get away with stuff,” when in fact this President, like it or not, is Xerxes reincarnate. He’s been engaging in one war after the next, ever since getting his Nobel peace prize. Yet, the chicken-hawks, the men who’ve never been in a schoolyard fight, but watch plenty of war movies, crave for even more blood. They want MOAR war.
Are you people retarded?
When my Father came home from serving his nation in Vietnam, he never talked about what he did. As a matter of fact, he was awarded the Bronze star, purple heart, amongst other medals, yet never put in for the paperwork to receive them. He didn’t want them because he wasn’t impressed with himself for killing people, albeit enemy combatants.
Lacking the specter of large scale war, this generation of young men seem to think war is a joke, something filled with glory, almost fun. They’re not thinking about the pain and anguish of losing a son, a daughter, losing an arm or a leg.
These same people love Vladimir Putin because he’s “an alpha-male.” Did it ever occur to you he was an animal, psychopath?
The Russians, historically, have demonstrated little regard for life. They’ve forced soldiers into impossible battles; and as a result, they’ve endured horrifying body counts in the wars they’ve been in. This doesn’t make their leadership brave or their soldiers hard. It only creates more sorrow, ruined families and a broken society.
Be grateful that your President doesn’t have the urge to inflict and suffer a wanton loss of life in the name of “bravery.” Obama the coward: may he continue to avoid armed conflict with the Russians and the Chinese, to the chagrin of all the valiant armed chair generals out there, desperate to witness total war.

Indeed. People today have no clue what true evil is.
I know no marine with the attitude you speak of.
Haha: Putin’s got us by the balls: $GE $BA $XOM $YUM http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-18/u-s-sanctions-prompt-business-concerns-over-retribution.html
Agree with the nerd politicians being war mongers. The only households of America with no veterans are really really new or immigrants. Not sure who the young men are you speak of Senor. The hawks are all boomers.
Iron
All households have vets? We haven’t had compulsory service since nam. What you say is false.
Was counting grandparents as well. Granted only a few overall still live. Not really sure wtf I was saying.
A mad dog, guy with a girls name, police state creationist, ,and various creepy pale crippled old “pundits” want to do war or war games like it is easy. They are all baby boomers.
Incredibly well said in my humble opinion.
good for you Fly .. the sober, unvarnished truth
America is the root of all terror. America has invaded sixty countries since world war 2.
In 1953 America overthrow Iran’s democratic government Mohammad Mosaddegh and installed a brutal dictator Shah. America helped Shah of Iran to establish secret police and killed thousands of Iranian people.
During Iran-Iraq war evil America supported Suddam Hossain and killed millions of Iranian people. In 1989, America, is the only country ever, shot down Iran’s civilian air plane, killing 290 people.
In 2003,America invaded Iraq and killed 1,000,000+ innocent Iraqi people and 4,000,000+ Iraqi people were displaced.
You again.
Xerxes is the root of all terror. He would demand people call him a “god-king” and step on servants back. He once sent 30,000 men to be slaughtered by king leonitus and 299 of his soldiers. Entire elephants fell off cliffs and so called immortals had their name tested. Later his ancestors would glorify him as a “God” in a movie called 300 and now they are even making a sequel to glorify the war culture.
Now the Persian Empire and Mesopotamia is gone and called modern day Iran and Iraq, where fabilions and jillions are killed in honor of Xerxes the soul crusher of death, and his ghost will possess any world leader he can.
The end.
Lol
The moment people forget the last war is when they clamor for the next one.
One hundred years ago this November, my grandfather, a 17 year old, just graduated from school, signed up with the 48th Highlanders to go fight in Belgium for a war that was supposed to be over by Christmas (like every war). He endured 4 years of some of the most gruesome fighting in this worlds history, including being gassed in the first use of mustard gas near Ypres.
Although I was too young to really know him well, my mother said that he NEVER EVER talked about his experiences in the war, except to the few of his friends that survived.
He remained a NCO after he came back and eventually returned 1940, assuming the second war would be even worse than the first.
The people who start wars are never the people who actually do the fighting…
“Truly, many amongst you human beings of Earth who let yourselves be incited through your desires, you find no time to turn to the true love and the creational truth and all the beauties of the Creation which it has given to you through the nature and the life; truly, you prefer to break the skull of your next one in hatred, jealousy, in strife and in pathological craving craving for revenge, provide murderous assisted dying and wage bloody wars because the evil gives you joy and satisfies your murderous lust-feelings.”
Nero…
Here here!
Anyone who clamors for total war (and, unlike our foreign affairs since 1945, that is undoubtedly what war with Russia or China would equate to) should populate their their thoughts by delving into a few WWII South Pacific or Eastern Front memoirs and ponder their children being part of that only with modern weaponry.
I’ve been to war. I’ve always told people it is a useful tool but not one to be taken lightly. Don’t start one half way. This is not a war we should engage in. I very rarely agree with Obama, and while I think he could do more to not look weak. Why should America want a war to prevent Russia from retaking a province orriginaly conquered by Catherine the great and only given to ukraine on a map redrawn in 1953.
You are correct about war but with respect to Obama, the fact that we aren’t in Syria or occupying Ukraine is not because of his love of humanity and keen common sense but rather because he’s (and others have) been outplayed. I agree that we should mind our own business and avoid war unless we, or a close ally, is attacked, but why make these stupid threats to Putin if he can’t back them up. He obviously knew these threats weren’t going to make Putin back off unless he really is that stupid. So maybe he’s not a pussy but rather a really bad strategist. Or those calling the shots are.
.
Do you consider Bush to have been “weak” when in 2008 Putin/Russia invaded Georgia ?
That happened on Bush’s watch !
Why is THAT somehow different ?
.
You mean Dick Cheney.
Bush is an idiot.
What does that have to do with what Obama has done?
Yes, arm rebels, who you have NO idea who their true loyalty is, great idea!
Reminds me of us arming Osama to fight the commies! Or, selling Chemical Weapons to Iraq to fight the Iranians.
Who suggested arming rebels?
My Grandfather was a bomber in WW2. My dad told me he would never talk about the war or what he did.
A well-penned post, my friend. I stand in agreement. At times, while I was reading said post, I wondered whether you had changed names and reposted a blog describing Bush’s sashaying in the Middle East.
Fly – totally agree with your post here. In the military now, and shrink whenever some no-service politician starts howling and clamoring for intervention, however direct or indirect. “Arming the rebels/Ukrainians/(insert whoever here)” seems to be the most recent publicly acceptable trope. Good times.
nice post.
I am usually just a reader but every now and then I must pipe up and say “You are still as awesome as ever!”
