Ever so gingerly, I sold 500,000 shares of that cocksucker CPST and rolled it, mind you, into MRVL. I intend to sell the remainder of my position in CPST next week, to finance the superfluous nature of the MRVL corporation.
Also, I added to, mind you, EXK.
All in all, it was another glorious and magnanimous day at The House of iBankCoin. We bring you good fortune on a daily basis and intend to serve you more through The ChessnWine Weekly Strategy Session offering, scheduled to be released, as well as launched, sometime over the next 24 hours. I strongly advise you to join, if only to test it for a week. Failure to adhere to my strictest advice will result in the gravitational removal of your mustaches.
Thank you and have a nice day.

What do you see in $MRVL that is so compelling? I thought you wanted to stay away from earnings plays?
$5 in net cash, strong institutional sponsorship (Einhorn).
Yeah … saw Einhorn was on $MRVL. Guy is beyond good. No doubt about that. Fundametnally, in that sector, $MRVL is a good value; but I preferred his interest in $STX
Small bit of info:
First SSD’s to utilize Marvell’s new 88SS9187 controller are due to come out this month. Could be the performance king for a little while at least. I’m hoping it pans out and OEMs jump onboard. LSI basically has a monopoly on SSD controllers at the moment.
‘Merica, for those of us to whom the above is Greek, please translate. R U saying e.g. “I think LSI is a good buy.”
LSI is the current king for SSD (Solid state disk – a type of hard drive) controllers.
Marvell’s new controller has generated a some buzz, if it pans out performance wise they would be in a good position to take some market share.
But, I have no idea how big of a part the SSD market plays in either of the two companies financials.
I think you’re bored.
I think you doubt me.
Obvious how ‘much’ the market is controlled. And no, not going down, they lose control.
I think the next big Wall st book will show how it’s ‘guided’. How much it’s guided.
Obvious someone wanted 3 green indices today. Each creeping even the last half hour.
Imho, they only increase the setup for a crash. Free market captitalism. My a$$.
No crashes allowed by the Central Banksters. Pullbacks allowed at some point, but they are made to be unpredictable. So Fly is right, long only is the way to go here.
whining doesnt make you coin
If you think it’s manipulated to the upside – THEN BUY THE FREAKING MARKET with a married put, or go home
After 16 years of whining by people who think it’s manipulated to the upside with the “next greatest crash on the way”, I grow so tired of that talk …
Not whining buddy. Hear what youre saying on coin
Trying to figure this s out. What is controlling things and why. The market wants higher here etc, no it’s being moved
Did people suddenly get optimistic at 3:45 today. All conjecture but I lean toward more behind the scenes than apparent
Who is “they’?
Thanku, I like statements kept tight. And then elaboration later
Just referring to the process of bubbles and crashes there. bubbles and crashes
Those that short term get a higher market but sacrifice real solutions later on
That end of day was a rebalance. Bubbles always burst, learning when is the hard part.
..another bore.
Why aren’t you more interested in lighting the bear on fire with kerosene during this month long march higher with large positions in heavily shorted names such as? RIMM BKS UNG MAKO, etc (In addition to VHC and DECK)
STX once again pulled my wagon tho RAX was no slouch
Yeup … $STX was a total sleeper. Value wise, I think the market is just now waking up to the possibilities there. Their EPS is too variable to consider intrinsic values (which would have it at $150 at least), but still … even with this rip of a run, I think $30 is a steal for $STX
3.5million shares traded on CPST today. A tribute to FLY’s skill that it didn’t move much. I guess you were unloading it in 5K chunks all day?
Actually, I was dropping 50,000 share blocks. It moved down 2cents after I was done.
i got bored today, so i bought a lottery ticket on some Yaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooo!!!! 😀
boaring day.
..as luck would have it, L.A. feels post-muerte.
All bets are off.
Just a personal (not material) opinion; you should offer the strategy as a free service for the short-term to show readers the value of such a service. We saw much better results with similar processes at my work (sell side bulge bracket so not “free”, per say, but offered as broad post and not subscription based).
One caveat of working at such a hallowed institution is the inability to trade so this is purely commentary and not some desperate degenerate plead for free material. Keep up the good work, fly – I look forward to your commentary every night!
Good to see you posting, John. How have you been?
Short term traders go broke.
Le Fly,
When you are in a state of winship, it fuels a writing style that is one of a kind. I have traversed the ends of the blogosphere numerous times, and when you’re winning (especially when you’re winning while not cussing because of a bet), there’s no one else I’d rather read.
Please take that as a sincere compliment.

Looked at CPST chart and lol’d
STX is a Mastodon
Mastodon? Anyway a giant bear stomper

Pennywise, Peaceful Day
Listen up everyone there’s something wrong
We got the answers in our sights now
But somehow still we struggle along
Looking for solutions in a threatening sky
But we never get an answer
Just a chorus of voices wondering why
We’re stuck here without a peaceful day
It’s a promise in the night I’ll be okay
The superlative is telling me that help is on the way
Won’t someone tell me how will I make it through today
Looking towards the future and all I can see
Is the next generation looking back
With pity on me
Hunting for some insight or mean to change
But do we have the will to or will our
Future look the same
How can I live when you won’t let me in
How can I die without reasons why
How can I laugh when I want to cry
How can I go on with nothing nowhere
How will I make it

An American Hero Myth
John Henry, legend has it, an ex-slave working as a free man, pounding rock to bits and working harder and faster and better than any man alive, came into American lore around the time of the Civil War. He pounded tunnels through the mountains for trains to bring exploitation and expansion to the West. In the name of American progress he hammered like this. No man could beat John Henry when he wielded that hammer in his hand, no man anywhere could work harder, so finally he challenged the machine. The machine had come to take their jobs, it was a mechanical hammer, a machine more efficient than any man, a second chance at slavery, it won’t get hurt or sick, so John Henry a towering, powerful man, took on the machine, courageously, to preserve the dignity of man. When the day of the race arrived, he hammered faster than ever, they were neck and mechanical arm the whole time, until finally John Henry beat it, he beat the machine! Everyone cheered, “No machine’s better than we.” And then he died, on the spot, exhausted, with that hammer still in his hand.
It’s a fascinating story because it’s a heroic mythology, but this time man does not overcome his surroundings. At best it’s a tie, he won and then he died, but it shows there is no way out. Even the hardest, best worker in the country loses to the system. You can work as a slave, give as little as you can, and it’s no worse, no better than the heroic worker’s plight. There’s no point in striving higher when the best you can do is die, with a hammer in your hand. The best we can do is die with a paycheck in our hand. The best we can do is hold a corporate title on our business card (till you get downsized). Being courageous, a height men would like to aspire to is pointless, nay, just plain stupid. Bravery and courage, defending men from the Machine, is only going to get you killed. Just look at MLK.
It is one of the only mythologies or stories I can think of which addresses the value of work, under the structure of America, in a critical way, even if the criticism gets buried under the fact that John Henry ‘beat’ the machine. People miss the larger picture when they narrow the story down to man versus machine, or to blue collar worker hero propaganda. The irony and the underlying story are conventions that date back to the slave tales in which the master is always shown to be the bad guy. In order to preserve the story, the telling is done furitively, intentionally. The story may be about a certain situation, for instance, and the plot is followed in this way, but subtle happenings make way for a private understanding by those who are “in the know.” The story’s subtleties reveal harsh and accurate criticism of “the man,” but only the story-creating group of people are privy to this telling. It’s almost like a special language, English of course, but double meanings and significations make it live commonly and contextually. This type of language thrives in any subversive group of people who must submit to the power structure, on the outside, with plain English, but use, understand, and shape the language into something that only they truly understand. It’s similar to the way groups or clubs, or any organization of people will develop a private language, but instead of using it just for a feeling of camaraderie, the subversive group uses it to speak of things that are unspeakable, in the presence of The Machine. In John Henry’s legend, for example, the narrative goes, ‘he won!’ In plain English, “He won,” end of story. But, the underlying story, using private language, possibly the “good slave” mythology, asks, ‘at what cost?’, and ‘did the end of slavery really make us free?’
Master of Love
He builds to Destroy, unintentionally,
Expecting allies, in this fight to be free.
With raids of love he carpets, caringly.
To raise and adore,
This is no lore,
He gives all he has, until he has no more,
He will not be a bore.
But his gifts are like a magazine waiting to be freed,
They punctuate and puncture in a ta-ta-tut speed,
Embedding the flesh, repeatedly,
As s/he reels and falls back having tried to tame or mount him,
To hold his love indefinitely, privately, possessively,
His love returns faster than speed, giving, showing, meaning no harm,
But they no longer see his charm,
In their eyes, now, nothing but war,
A sigh, a turn, another bore.

Master of War
I destroy to Build, through eyes full of strength,
Forming each word, I go through such lengths,
I bring honesty up from beds of concrete,
Trying always and only to find where minds meet.
There comes a time, inevitably,
When I say, ‘Look! over there, I see the light.’
Then it’s a war it’s a fight, feels mostly like night,
I’d like to just turn my head knowing I’m right,
But I struggle and fight, and go for the kill,
Only to see a face turned to me in good will.
Sadly, W.K.L. ignores the gospel of Saint and Savior Obama. Without Him there was nothing. With Him is everything you have, have ever had, will ever have, now and forever. Gag.
Yawn………….. True, true, ruggyup. He is the Master of Love I speak of, but he ain’t no savior and he ain’t no politician. and he certainly is not a faggot. And, I hope you see the light in this statement.
..and I, naturally, am your Master of War, trained and raised by the Master of Love. Fire away.
Politics is so weird. No one likes their own candidate. They just hate their candidate’s opponent. We have a political system built entirely on anger and not at all on vision.
Of course anger is easier to manipulate, so that makes sense. Most of what is in our political atmosphere is caused by paid manipulators.
With this going on, it’s no wonder we never get problems solved. Anger by itself is not a solution to anything.
A president or a candidacy offers nothing, can bring no economic growth or relief to my city or micro economy. The beltway’s obsolete, can deliver no dreams, and no one even cares what happens in D.C..
so true, the bar is so low that it’s not enough just to hate and smear the opposition, but to fabricate commercial adverts based on lies. …and no one cares, no one even bats an eye.
It’s no enough to lie about what bright future a vote won’t bring, but in its stead, to base a campaign on destroying the other through pathetic pettiness.
Haven’t heard a peep from any serious candidate like maybe the Paul campaign. Was political vision just a dream lost in past consciousness, or was that the political establishment. Eyes on the prize, reboot the system.
OK, We have a strange turn of events. IMHO what is really holding up a lot of this is the risk prem in the market over Iran and their stupid Nuclear Program. ANYWAY, Iran had two major earthquakes right at the hub of their Nuclear Program. Some are already saying it was testing that went the wrong way, whatever. Anyway, Sanctions are in place to restrict their Nuclear Program..and with these Earthquakes did Mother Nature do something that the Talks couldn’t do????? So, I wonder, is Oil going to sell off when games start again or fear of production loss will hold it up??? Very Interesting set of facts.
Terry Laundry past away. I just found out. I am sad.
