HUMBLE PIE: It’s What’s for Dinner (UPDATED)

Another glorious day in God’s year of 2012, led forward by FOSL, Grossle, Tossle and Vossle. I stand before you a successful man. I like to consider myself one, as I’ve worked to that end for well over a decade and change. The magical things seen in the market today and nothing more than reruns of previous tapes. The game is always the same, only the characters change–in this case symbols.

Top picks: WNR, DMND

UPDATE: Apparently prosecutors are “looking into” DMND’s bribery tactics, which has been well known to everyone for a thousand years now. There is a reason why the stock is trading down here. Nevertheless, I will double my position into this decline, should it stick. The premise behind the investment is valuation, irrespective of this inquiry. This is not Enron, at least I hope not. My apologies to anyone who bought it because of me.

Back on the WNR train again?

WNR goes up and down like a porn star’s WNR. You just have to avoid the down moves and you are in good shape.

Best line in that entire story:

“So the question is, what the hell kind of payment could Diamond have given to walnut farmers that would cause this amount of trouble? We are talking about walnuts, not oil. Seriously, the walnut is perhaps the least offensive of all snack food items. It tastes good in carrot cake, but is it not an uglier pecan?”

Eye of the storm. Eye of a hurricane, everything is fine. After being hit. You still have the other side coming!

Of course CDS decline. Added money, as debt, to solve the main problem, of debt. It’s the eye of the storm. Everything is fine…right?…

this was out early this morning on street account

Big shareholders dump positions in Diamond Foods – WSJ (32.69)
•The WSJ noted that two of the five biggest shareholders in Diamond Foods have dumped the bulk of their holdings in the company. The article pointed out that the move comes as the stock has been hit hard over the last few months on concerns about an accounting probe that threatens to derail its planned $2.35B acquisition of Pringles from P&G (PG)
•The paper said that Del Mar Asset Management, Diamond’s third-largest stockholder with an 8.7% stake at the end of the September, now owns just 40K shares, or 0.2% of the company. It added that BAMCO Inc., Diamond’s fifth-largest shareholder in September with a 6.9% stake, has since sold all of its shares.

Herb Greenberg on CNBC is a chump shill for short fund managers and has been for over a decade since he was writing for the street.com. I don’t mind critiquing of situations, but this punk bitch gets off the phone with some manager who is short a stock up to his eyeballs, gets on TV with “breaking news” and CNBC lets him get away with it. It’s pathetic.

    Alright!

and at risk of ban…which I will completely understand (short of u guys looking to keep this “subjective”)

Long WNR ??…here ? ….now?? – perhaps you are looking to throw the odd loop/twist to your daily ‘college readers’ – and who knows….maybe even enjoy it! – no thing to me Fly.

Just that….hmmmm…lets see….world indices (Whilshire) at near term tops…WNR at massive horizontal level of resistance..(15.13 ish and 200 sma clearly angles/pointing down)and oil in general falling outta bed today?

Anyway….for newbies ouch – trade on your own observations – FLY does what Fly does.

Can we talk gold and TLT? While gold was enduring its meltdown, Fly, you said you would know when to buy by looking at TLT.
Gold has made a nice run, while TLT has been basically moving sideways and the BBs are now tightening into what looks like a potential voaltility squeeze. Has your thinking changed re: your correlation of gold and TLT?

you take huge risks playing manipulated stocks unless you’re an “insider” and unless you’re an insider consider yourself the sucker in the room. That’s why there are so few billionaire traders versus investors.

no need to blame yourself son.i started my position well over 9 sessions ago, already knowing damn well what the story was about, that they were paying “bonus’s” to their growers. PFFFT, SO FUCKING WHAT ! and what’s illegal about that,NOTHING ! lets do some comparing here, whats the difference between dmnd,or the fact when yuz all got to wmt to shop for damn watermelons, guess what, the demands made to all farmers by wmt are oppressive to the point that those farmers are in essence owned by wmt,do those farmers get a bonus after being slave owned by wmt, I DONT THINK SO. besides these nut farmers can sell their crop to whomever they see fit. look at the float, check out the total size. not fucking many,so it could be real easy for 3 companies that owns shares in size, be able to consume most of the company. so now these big holders are asserting some kind of shenanigens because these farmers received a bonus, what about these very companies that own so many shares, dont their undeserving ceo’s take bonus’s. fuck those large funds.compare this situation to the ipsu situation.i would love to argue both. dmnd is a buy,and all those shares will get absorbed, now look at wmt float, try absorbing that pos.
