I am by no means sure how the market rallied, only that more than a few weeks ago Fly was convinced the bubble would burst in bonds and I do beleive this was before Operation Twist was announced. At first, the consensus was Operation Twist had caused the huge run-up in the long bonds. Or was it the crisis in Europe and people seeking risk aversion? Now I am reading it is Operation Twist that is causing the rotation out of bonds into equities. Or, is it the assumption that Europe will print its way out of their financial crisis that has the market rallying? Or China buying its own bank stocks? How is it that Operation Twist can have two totally different affects on the market? Is it having any effect on the market? So many catalysts happening concurrently.
