Thought for the night:

Youtube video “Taliban and Gold Currency”. Start watching at 6:40. Do some further research, then go buy some physical precious metals, bury them, and forget about them (almost). This guy claims that 2 days before September 11, the Taliban had decided to switch Afghanistan to using gold as a currency. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. The current Libya situation is corroborating evidence. Precious metals will be the best trade you’ll ever make if you hold physical for a very long time.
As a reminder: Libya is being trashed right now, paid for by the future taxing of your children, to keep Gadaffi from organizing African nations into accepting only gold or hard goods for oil, and introducing the gold dinar as currency. The Libya invasion is all just to keep the money making ability of global central banks as supreme. That bears repeating. It’s all just to keep the central banks which are all private corporations held by the same dudes, as the only institutions that can create “money”. And the “money” that they “create” on a printing press or an electronic digit (from nothing), has interest immediately owing on it by YOU and your kids via your government as “interest” it pays on the national debt to foreign central banks that are also all owned by the same people who own the federal reserve. As in, all of your “national debt” is for the priveledge of using the money “created” by some random dudes who happen to own the central banks. There is no free market if there is a monopoly on currency. I’ll take JakeGint’s currency instead please and thanks. It doesn’t obligate my children to pay a large portion of their labor to “some ruthless dudes”.
Just prying into Case for Mars. Thanks for reference, proving quite the read. With lots more to go, all these revolutions, of the literal and man made kind, are producing the material I need to finish a book I’ve been writing for a number of years now. I won’t divulge too much of my brain child, but it presents a well reared, educated American who partakes in what is otherwise organized crime, but takes on such efficacy and circumstantial change as to cause a political movement. Your comments are spot on. Good material for development.
I’m glad that you are enjoying the book! In yours, consider tying in the assasination of King Faisal, and his intentions after he heard about the goals of Bunker Hunt’s visit to Tehran. Faisal proved that he had balls in 1973, and that “just wouldn’t do”.
You could also consider the role of the IMF in derailing Bunker Hunt’s proposed silver/sugar/oil threeway proposal, with the Phillipines and Saudi through Great Western Refinery.
Correct me if I’m wrong Steve the neighbor, but I thought Jews, Christians, and Muslims were all forbidden from usury, and that every 7th year, all of religiously allowed interest-free loans were completely forgiven (the year of Jubilee). I find it truly astounding that in only 250 years or so, a very small group of people could make religious people the world over swap out their hard currencies for debt obligation currencies.
Good luck with your book Blindy. I hope to stumble across it some day when it’s finished.
Right, because countries that live under sharia banking are doing fantastic right now.
The loosening of usury laws saw the dawn of the renaissance. Countries afraid to engage in “usury” are still stuck in the dark ages, literally. When you can’t make interest on a loan–guess what happens
The wealthy sit in their golden palaces on the hill, and refuse to invest in anything. Much like what we see in most of the mideast. Why do you think wealthy saudis, libyans, egyptians all invest in the west? Because no-interest banking doesn’t work. Unless you enjoy living like the _____-ing Flintstones.
“The Middle Ages in Europe were marked by continuance of an anti-commerce attitude and a preoccupation with local markets.”

What was Nixon’s reasoning , and why did everyone go along with it? Was it put to a vote? (before my time)
It’s not about usury. It’s about the creation of money. It’s about a few private citizens having a monopoly on the creation of money. Look at Canada as an example. They officially own their own central bank. But that doesn’t matter if they don’t use it to create money. Canadians still pay something like 40% of their tax dollars to foreign central bankers as interest on the money created into existence by those private foreign central banks. Instead, Canada’s publically owned central bank could be receiving the interest, with the interest money going toward public works, technological R&D, major high-tech infrastructure. Instead, we pay almost $45 billion per year to the very few guys in privately owned central banks elsewhere. That’s enough to buy every old duffer gold teeth, free university, and still have a kick-ass space program. Giving the $45 billion per year to some guys for the right to use their electronic digits instead of our own is nothing short of monumental theft. And its a widespread global issue. I’m not anti-commerce; I’m anti-stupid.
And look at the appreciation of gold price over the last 100 years or so relative to any fiat currency, and tell me with a straight face that no-interest banking doesn’t work. Imagine where it would be if 20% of holdings were still in gold instead of 0.8% of investments. Would the housing bubble have happened if a hard currency were used? Tech bubble? Need for exponential economic growth always? As of today, no one can change the supply of gold or silver quickly, easily, or sustainably. Not so much for the dominant system of “monopoly money” we have today.
Also need to remember: The population of China and India is roughtly equal to the global population in 1980.
The first time I heard about the year of Jubilee was in a book called “The Year of Living Biblically, by A. J. Jacobs. He was born Jewish (non practicing), and decided to try to live Biblically. It was an awesomely interesting book (not in a political sense) and you mentioning that reminded me of it.
OEW Daily Recap:
“After SPX 1347 was hit the market pulled back 11 points. This is a typical pullback during uptrends. If this market is now in Minor 3, Intermediate iii, Major 3 we should know in the next few days as a strong rally should unfold. If not, the market will likely break today’s low (SPX 1336) and head back toward this week’s low at 1319.”
My numbers and work have resulted in close to the same analysis
