Understand the entire complex has been taken down, alongside a number of high profile commodity names. The sell off has not been specific to the refiners. When the bounce comes, people will buy up cheap names. In my opinion, the refiners offer excellent risk/reward profile, providing demand destruction doesn’t emerge, as gasoline sustains $4.00.

Well, assuming the SLV specifically is viable (which it is not). SLV is very different than the PSLV Fly suggested. SLV = paper silver scam , PSLV = they actually own it all and you can take physical possession of it if you want. SLV is encumbered which is to say not yours even if there is any silver.

If any company determines an unexpected event would have a material effect on estimated quarterly earnings then the company should release a statement to revise their quarterly forecast. Never assume analysts are proactive. That being said, my favorite and only open refining trade HOC beat by 0.20.

I’ve got a tough time getting so bearish on this market because oil and PMs are selling off. This should be a good thing for our consumer driven economy. Rotation to retail, tech and financials seems to be occurring which is always a little bumpy.
Maybe it’s because I don’t have any energy or commodity stocks, although WNR at $14 looks very interesting.
