So, using The PPT tools, I queries “Gulf of Mexico” in the keyword search. Then, I slapped it into a screener, looking for strength and voila!

I built the ppt for my trading. It was originally intended to just be for me. It is a set of algorithms that cuts my research time down to nothing, in many cases. This is not sales talking: but it is the single best thing that I created, aside from my children.

That was a horriffic thing to do. However, this is one incident. There are likely plenty of Egyptians who are nonviolent. To call that typical is like taking the violent crime in Arizona recently– or any of our other incidents of violent crime here in the U.S.– as if it is typical of all Americans.
It’s easy to hate, but there’s no reason to hate an entire population of a country based on this one incident– just as it would be unfair to you to blame you personally for every crime ever committed by any American. Only time will tell what the majority of the people of Egypt are capable of, and what they will end up doing with their political system. I have no idea. I have never been there, do not speak Egyptian Arabic, and suspect it is difficult to get a clear idea of what is happening by flying in suddenly from outside the culture with a translator. To be sure it is even more difficult now, as many newsfolks– for good reason after that incident– must be afraid to go out into the streets to discover & report what is going on.

My family is Jewish from Libya and left in 1967. Although it’s never a good idea to generalize about a whole population, I can tell you first hand that the mindset of the typical person in that region is not the same as in Arizona. They don’t have the same respect for human life and dignity. However, what we are seeing glimmers of is respect for woman. If this is part of the revolution than it could be the start of a dramatic shift in ideology for the whole region.

Probably a good idea to hold off on CIE since their first production isn’t scheduled to come online until around 2013. Then again, buy the rumor sell the news I suppose.
Hold off on CIE for a Gulf play yes… BUT for a West Africa play it is beautiful. Take a look at the blocks they have in the Kwanza Basin off Angola: Geo weenies with their 3D seismic toys predict roughly 7,000mm boe if they can hit the pre-Salt reservoirs. They are set to drill in Q2, and they will be the first to drill in the basin. I’m long here and will be long through Q2.

Oil is around $100 a barrel while gas is around 20 bucks equivalent. Meanwhile CNG reserves has literally risen 10 fold. Long term oil is fucked as the energy envelope is filled to capacity.
Perhaps. On the other hand I am of the belief that expoloration budgets got clobbered from late 2008 through all of 2009. In order to get reserve replacements back up to just decent levels a lot of exploratory capex is going to happen this year and next. Most of the big operators have been guiding much higher on capex this year already. Long oilfield services and drillers (my preference is the OFS industry).
