Looks Like Green

With European markets trading up today, I expect to see the U.S. markets bounce, when trading begins tomorrow morning. As far as my cash position is concerned, I am pretty comfortable with 15%, at least for the next few days. Who knows?

I will provide the readers of this site with a short term game plan, later on tonight or early tomorrow.

A little FYI: Wood’s PDS service is kicking ass on a monumental scale, booking a success ratio of 83%, successfully calling 181 of 218 trades. Truly amazing. If you are interested, find one of the ads on the site and sign up for a free trial. I don’t feel like short cutting it for you lazy fuckers, by providing a convenient link in this post.

FYI II: iBC will be welcoming a new contributor, sometime soon. It will be different and it will be grande.

As irony would have it, iBC’s IT built in an instant link to the PDS, without me knowing it, effectively linking to Wood’s service automatically whenever I mention it.

So much for my tough guy talk.

Though I do not expect you to divulge this information, Senor Fly, I shall ask anyway:

What well known investor do you admire the most? Or which investing book(s) influenced you substantially?

    ROFL!

Tell me again How it doesn’t matter which party you vote for?

(Apparently, current gummint in power thinks, well, if you’re dumb enough to vote for us, mebbe you’ll turn your IRA-401k’s to our munny man’gers (sic) too.)

It just keeps getting better and better folks.

I agree, the last Republican administration bears primary responsibility for that 31% plunge in 401K balances that was cited in the Bloomberg article. But, Jake, let’s not condemn all Republicans.

(With this kind of steller “analysis,” is there any question Purdy will be the first to fork over his savings to Obama’s new “roll it like Chavez” annuity plan?)

What’s not to like? It’s like union dues, only a little bit mooah (sic).

Just the fleecing America needs Jake! I can see all the sheep converting their IRAs and 401Ks to annuities! They will be lucky to keep the wool on their backs after taxes and inflation. Oh, I’m sure they won’t raise the estate taxes on those contracts, make them variable and charge 3% annual fees to wrap it up in a govenment run insurance plan to “protect” it from losses. Now when the gummint (sic) has to pay out the “insurance” on the account value it bled out for years, they can treat it as a taxable investment rather than an insurance payout. Sounds like a brilliant way to pay for the egregious debt. Time to stop the madness. Maybe we’ll see some glimmer of hope out of the Taxachusetts Senate seat election.

Seriously, who (besides the above mentioned Massachoo Lib) would be dumb enough to fork their life savings over to a government that told the oldsters “No COLA increase” in 2009 for their socialist security checks because, well, there was no inflation, dontcha know?

The 28% increase in the price of gold, aside.

Hey, you posted the article …the fact that you’re blinded by partisanship and cannot acknowledge any Republican culpability for the shit we’re in, is sad.

BTW, Brown is NOT a conservative. Many Republicans and former Republicans (those more analytically gifted than you) have noticed that a big “R” no longer stands for small, unobtrusive, conservative governance

Happily for me, there is one conservative running in MA, his name is Joe Kennedy. No Jake, This Joe Kennedy is not related to the silver-spooned Kennedy clan as you incorrectly assumed in a prior post; a post where you unwittingly proved once again that you are incapable of seeing beyond labels.

Call it the defense budget, call it agriculture subsidies. But as far as I’m concerned, you hicks don’t have a pot to piss in that Massachooseets didn’t pay for. Kennedy never needed my vote since I’ve lived here and never got it …. I promised myself while in college that I’d never vote for Lurch as long as I lived, though I would have in 2004 (had my wife not passed 1-2 weeks before the elections rendering me a useless bag of shit) based on Bush II’s performance on 9/11/01 while reading to school children in FL, and other atrocities. Given the opportunity again though and retrospect being 20/20, I (and I’ll bet quite a few other voters) would risk giving Kerry the nod. Who knows, despite my lack of faith in Lurch, by some luck of nature (ala’ Clinton) we may have avoided this financial meltdown but that’s water over the dam now.

So, no … I can honestly say that I’ve never voted for either of those candidates …. and, I was a Romney supporter in 2008 and only succumbed to Obama as a result of the Old Man/Palin GOP ticket.

First it doesn’t matter which party you vote for, they are all sucking the pork out of a pigs cock when given the chance.

Second, why is everything you read regarding an idea from the Dems a plot to take away your freedom? If I ever have the displeasure of seeing you in person, it would not surprize me in the least to see you wearing a tin hat.

I’m not saying the idea is a good one, or not. But the article read to me as an idea being floated out there to save people from blowing their hard earned retirement savings on stocks they should perhaps not be invested in for long term retirement income. Not everyone is as successful at investing as the Fly.

If you ever had anything intelligent to say regarding the issues you would not be as annoying as you are. You might want to try having a point, people will take you more seriously then they do now.

And you have the balls to question my intelligence?

Sorry, I thought my point was self-evident, but I guess I needed to dumb it down some more.

Franz Kafka (do you even know who he was?) would laugh at your gullibility. Maybe pick up a copy of one of his books sometime instead of a People magazine.

I think Jake is correct here. Trust the government as much as a mean dog or sleeping rattlesnake.

My view- Make as many dollars as you can as soon as possible. Then convert them to hard assets the government or your creditors cannot easily take.

btw- The CPI says the dollar has lost one half of its purchasing power since 1985. Anyone who trusts a distant payout is a fool.

I am considering disability insurance, and mentally I discount the benefit payment 50 percent since God knows where the dollar will be in ten years. The “inflation rider” is BS, the Devil is in the fine print.
right now TAX SHIELDED by the 401-k rules
Then you go and spoil it by:

          [QUOTE}
over to the gov’t for an annuity payout determined at their whim
The paranoia is what distracts from your points. Instead of arguing from facts (or more likely well reasoned premises) you inevitably turn to ad hominem attacks on whatever democrat you hate at the moment (I know you hate them all).

Yes I don’t share your political view, but that’s not the point. If you actually had reasonable arguments and not just Fox News attacks I’d at least read what you had to say and weigh your points. And before you go down the childish route of saying you don’t care if I read what you say, you should. Why? Because you’re a blogger, which presumably means you have something to say that you want others to read. Trust me, I’m not the only one who feels this way. The only time I ever read your silly paranoid opinions is when they find themselves on the Fly’s comments section. When you first became a full time blogger I checked you out, but what you had to say on investing was overshadowed by your irrational hatred for the Democrats and Obama in particular. It was not even reasoned debate.

So given that you wish to be a blogger of some respect take the criticism like a man, and try to add value instead of just noise to this site.

It’s not “paranoia” simpleton, and it’s obvious from your ignorance that you haven’t visited my pages. Moreover, your knee jerk resort to the “Fox News” plaint — the tired left wing hack’s answer to everything of a non-socialist slant– gives you away. FYI — I never watch Fox News, save on election night, and that’s only because I can’t handle the abhorrent creatures on most tv programmes. I get 99.9% of my information from a myriad of sources on the net. First thing– stay away from TV.

            Now….

Listen closely and focus like a laser, I shall try one more time — if only for the benefit of those who are still educable.. If you want to actually debate these points instead of resorting to offhand insults and hack comments, then you are welcome.

Do you understand that the gov’t has a conflict of interest with anything that measures inflation, especially gov’t offered investment assets like TIPs?

Do you understand that the gov’t has between $55 and $70 trillion in unfunded liabilities in both Social Security and Medicare in front of it, even before Obamacare and the planned deficits of the next ten years?

Do you understand that even 70% marginal tax rates for the top 20% of all tax-payers is not enough to absorb the looming liabilities — not even for the first decade (the subsequent implosion of the economy aside).

The Gov’t has no choice, therefore, but to cheapen the currency in order to address these liabilities, as the only other “out” is default.

Therefore it’s not “paranoia” to note that it would be highly be beneficial for the gov’t to take a dollar today in order to pay it back with a devalued dollar tomorrow.

            Learn finance.

            Learn economics.

            Learn your country’s history.

Then come back to me with your pejorative comments, if that’s all you’ve got in ample supply.

I don’t mind a pejorative you smirky little dimtard, I just don’t think it should make up the entirety of one’s argument (take note).

If it does, and one becomes known for knee-jerk Bush Derangement System non-sequitors like yourself, Mr. “Self-Aware,” then one becomes easily parodable.

For example a query for debate —

If one makes all sorts of self-important and self-righteous statements about the problems of alleged “conservative” candidates have in hewing to the true “small gov’t” non-tyrannical model, but then turns around and wastes his vote on the No-Chance-in-Hell Losertarian candidate — again, out of pure vanity —

then what has one done but checked the box for Socialism?

            Discuss.

Happy MLK,Jr. Day Neighbor and iBCers. I think I know who the new contributor will be for your site. You wrote that “it will be grande.” Nice clue. I am sure it is Julio, the illegal working for you who runs one of the lawn mowers. I saw him in his living quarters in your tool shed and he seemed pretty happy about something. He told me to buy FEMSA (FMX) about six months ago because he loves the Tecate,Sol, and Dos Equis brands. He is one smart illegal. and he and Juan beat me at dominoes all of the time, although I believe they would appreciate it if you put some heat in the tool shed.

I must say many people that visit the site can see and appreciate the work you guys put in.. However, some of these fucktards really piss me the fook off.. To you guys questioning this website, go fly a kite in a lightning storm or better yet fall off a cliff in the morning.. I tell RC all the time that some of these assholes really have no clue.. You think you can do better, go build your own fooking site.. Other than that negativity, it will be a great week.. Keep up the great work guys!!!

? for Jeremy or Fly ..

I’m seeing a ton of Brown ads all over the net and now here at iBC. Is everyone getting these ads or just puters with IP addresses housed in MA?

Just curious how he could pay for such widespread advertising unless it’s computer-user selective via IP address.

Thnx to you or anyone else with more computer salvy than I for the explanation.

I think it’s Google ads. He pays for “X” number of ads, and then Google “senses” (through some sort of algorythym) where the ads should be placed, and distributes them across the Net.

Either that or Jeremy comped the Brown campaign some free space.

Nope — “Drank” and “Options Xpress” are what I have, but you are in Mass, so it’s probably being sent to you for last minute GOTV reasons.

    Fook mewls:

    …..5 mins later….
“lurch, lurch, lurch, lurch, lurch, …” – Rush Gintbaugh

So it’s “Rush” who calls Kerry “Lurch?”

You must listen to him pretty closely, as I’ve never heard it from that source.

Perhaps there could actually be others that noted the Frankenstein looking fucker looked like Lurch way back in the nineties?

And that’s just from skimming the comments on this post.

Instead of “skimming,” troll, why not try to bring a subtantive argument? Your flaccid personal attacks are boring.

What you need to understand is that you have become the homeless guy on the corner screeching your prophecies at the public. Maybe you have good points buried in all the hate, but no one cares to dig for it. You need to work on your presentation, Jacob.

Again, I implore you to find a goat to blow. In case you haven’t noticed, this is not Tom Brown’s School Days. As well — if you think this is “hate” you must’ve grown up in a pretty boring village.

If you can’t take the heat, scroll by. Your lack of seriousness is already duly noted, and you are only annoying me now.

    Run along, Shaftoe.
