Most of the farmers around here are in the 7 to 8 figure net worth category. I don’t get the derogatory tone regarding that occupation.

You see there are basically two types. There’s Amish style farming and then you have American style/feed the entire flipping world farming, with fleets of 300HP 4WD tractors that would pull your house into next year without so much as a wisp of black smoke.

My father is a farmer, hbs grad. Farming is a truly noble endeavor. Hard work, sacrifice, providing for the community, idiots they are not.

Didn’t Buffet largely dis-inherit his kids? Bequesting most of his wealth into Bill Gates’ foundation?

I remember seeing a mini documentary on Buffet where they interviewed all of his kids. The one that’s a musician was saying how he had sold Berkshire Hathaway stock that had been left to him by his grandfather in order to fund is music career. If he didn’t sell the stock, it would have been worth over 100 million at the time of the interview. He calmly talked about how he’d much rather build a career of his own than have 100 million in the bank.

I have seldom been more pissed off at the arrogance that seemed to seep out of his pores. He was living in some kind of messed up reverse entitlement world. All the while having the worlds ultimate safety net. When all else fails, go work for daddy.
