Let me sum up today’s trading.
I sold out of TC, RBCN, LITB and VEEV. My market position shifted from 130% long to 85%, placing me, ever so subtly, into a 15% cash position. The only action being taken on my part now is actively acquiring shares of RPTP.
I intend, for lack of a better phrase, to eat the livers of anyone betting against me in RPTP.
If you’re just tuning in now and unaware of what I am talking about, ICPT has gone completely retardo to the upside. I’ve never seen anything like it, frankly. And I wish to capture the “liver lightening” in a bottle via RPTP.
Other long positions include BALT, TXTR, GOGO and ANGI.
Today’s decline in BALT is a welcomed development, especially since I sold about half of my position a little higher than here. Ideally, I’d like to reacquire those shares in the mid $5’s.

It’s not a big deal. BALT is still my largest position. I sold the shares acquired in the 4’s because the overall position got too large. In no way does this make me smart or cool for selling. I didn’t think I’d have a chance to buy it back. But now I can buy it back and not worry about having to chase it.
I understand. I don’t think any of us are looking to hold your hand through our trades, but as one of my main sources of sentiment for BALT, your actions and thoughts carry some meaning for my strategy. Nothing more than that.
As a perpetual optimist, I still see the volume gap between 6.80 and 9 as something to always be in play for. The 6.05 to 6.10 area has some decent support the last couple of weeks so we’ll see if it holds. I would guess it does not with the BDI continuing to fall. Thoughts?
Balt to $10 is my opinion
The market luckily was slow to react to rates dropping, everyone had the opportunity to get out at 6.60 this morning.
Remarkable that people get upset because they missed his movement. Do your own homework, and do your own trades. As great as he is, people will still lose money following because they don’t understand why he is in. Doing a trade because Fly is in is pure gambling, while to Fly it is a proper trade based on his own rules.

Part of the problem with following my trade is you don’t know my needs or full allocation. BALT got too big. I mean stupid big. It would be irresponsible to not pare it down.
I follow almost all Fly trades in, but I sometimes hold a winner when he sells. Made a killing doing that last year. To me it’s better than giving your money to a mutual fund or hedge fund manager – costs are lower, performance is better, and you know exactly where your money is going. I work a full time busy job, I’m not a trader, so what else can I do?
Re-read Kapitalist comment above, Fly stated he mentioned it in the PPT, I guess we just missed it.
I usually use Fly’s gentlemanly scholarship as a starting point occasionally, and for the major lolz. Can’t believe people follow every last move to a T.
I have a good idea.
Since there are always doubters, and Fly wont make a public spreadsheet with actual data, I will just keep track in the comments with a best estimation approach. I read often enough, should be close.

As philbert above stated and I couldn’t agree more, do your own homework and make the trade your own if you decide to act on a stock pick from anyone.
Whether The Fly is still holding or not his announced stock picks should have no effect on your trading plan. If it does, that mean you don’t really have a trading plan. Without a trading plan, you are exposing yourself to unnecessary risk you are not prepared to take.

Is it fair to say that announcements have been made on buy/sells for all of your core positions? Not only within PPT but on the main blog. Not that you have to do so, but it historically has been your pattern, has it not? So there is an implicit expectation.
Don’t act surprised that lots of readers are following you into trades and look to you for queues.
