You Know What’s Brewing? NOTHING

I hear lots of bullshit tom-fuckery, regarding Europe and how they will inevitably collapse and rape everyone. I hear the same shit about Japan, as eloquently pointed out by Hugh Hendry, calling them a “nuclear bomb strapped onto the chest of the global economy.” Quite frankly and respectfully, no one gives a shit. People are too busy spending their bonus checks, whilst concocting plans to export the low paying factory jobs, that your Uncle needs to eat, to Shenzen, China.

Life is grande if you are part of the haves. As for the “have nots,” let them eat cake.

I’m a big believer in Darwinism and how some are destined to shine shoes, while others piss on the world from atop Cadillac Mountain. Having said that, I step into Monday’s trading with mixed emotions. Inside my personal account, I am heavily hedged with FAZ. For managed, I am 90% long and strong, like two cocks stuck in a hammock.

It is my belief we are in the midst of extending the current bubble into the absurd. The Gilded Era is upon us, where gluttony and hedonism reign supreme. I’ve secured reservations for Per Se, fully satisfied with their egregious $1,200 per plate dining experience and a 4-6 month wait. I am able to do this, AND MORE, thanks to my time machine and space alien magician ways. Plus, it helps a great deal to be blessed with an IQ, just above 155.

As for you: it’s not necessary that you visit iBankCoin on a daily basis, for we will visit you. I’ve taken the liberties to secure all of the locations of our readership and put all of you, mind you, on 23 hour surveillance (everyone deserves a little privacy). Our IT department is developing offensive internet weapons that can effectively fry your PC and cause small explosions inside of your office, which may result in your decapitation.

A great man once asked: “is that a threat?”

Absolutely.

Quite possibly something more than just a wack job. Politics has become increasingly more aggressive and obnoxious in the U.S.. Since politics is sometimes disucssed here, we R lucky that it is impossible for people to shoot each other over the Internet.

ah, but if the have nots fall completely into oblivion, if chaos does ensue, darwinism on a grand scale… I wonder if, frankly, this has happened in the past? I wonder if, frankly, the aftermath then favored those proven to be able to build stuff and make stuff and organize stuff, and stuff? And not just let whacking of keys…

Indeed, ultimately, the lords of finance need the have nots more than vice versa, and its really just in a very prosperous society where they can truly thrive.

    Or something.

Digression aside, Hugh is definitely “doing the hugh hendry” lately…

Actually, have nots are the ones that vastly out reproduce the haves. A reverse Darwinism is already taking place. Many implications arise from this.

Per Se’s tasting menu is $275, more for the truffle probably. Are they doing a special event?

We did the tasting menu at an awesome fine dining restaurant this past Saturday (Lacroix) and I was appalled by the disrespect people have these days. You must wear a uniform to these establishments (suit and tie); break out your “nice jeans” for slurping fucking margaritas at Chili’s. All obnoxious NY/NJ delinquents who wear hoodies to Michelin star restaurants, ask their wives “what do you bitches want,” or flat out tell the pastry chef a portion of dessert was not to their liking and recommend they take it off the menu, should be forced to identify at least what 5 things on the menu are before entering. “What’s salsify? -I think it’s like Mexican dip.”

Sounds like some of the folks in Fly’s redneck videos made a bunch of money selling drugs and went to eat at that restaurant. Darwin is not as selective as some might think. Survival of the “fittest” can be accomplished by selling drugs, or being born into a well-connected family, or any number of things that don’t mean a person is smart.

How many years have you been waiting on the alleged China copper bubble? Have you noticed that China isn’t like the rest of the world? The stability of their government over decades allows them to do things like plan for higher copper prices, oil prices, etc. in 67 years. They can continue stockpiling all metals/energy commodities accordingly in the present. Almost all of the uranium production from the athabasca basin has gone straight to China for more than 10 years now. Oil is another fine example. They can stockpile copper for longer than your natural lifespan.

Fly I point you to China’s trade surplus decreasing, that would indicate less spending would it not? And more importing iron ore/coal from the country I call home to build more buildings. I think it’s prudent to seek protection, and is why I have FMG puts. Further, I think Hugh Hendry’s thesis is sound. I am also short Us steel.

Interesting article on mauldins site regarding the cause of the upside down weather being due to volcanic activity. Are you talking to me go2mars? The nature of a hedge against china, given the odds are so good 50:1, 100:1… I can be wrong for a long time, so in my case since mid 09. Yet I made 5x my money on puts in 2010.

Firstly, I am not betting against China, I’m betting they have reached overcapacity on the property construction side (significantly different). Hence I believe it will impact adversely iron ore and coking coal.

Further, your argument about the government’s abilities to centrally manage the economy, is flawed. Read Hayek, and then look to Russia’s history. Things going well in an economy lend to excesses, it’s reflexive. In addition, if you read Money, Bank Credit and Economic Cycles, you will find that every monetary expansion in history precedes a bust, I would suggest, this time is not different, nor is China. In fact, given on a relative basis China’s monetary expansion “credit boom” has been the largest and fastest in history, it could be worse than just a property bubble on a debt level.

Ultimately, it is just a proposition, I won’t argue, just consider. I am exceedingly wealthy and still in my twenties, I want to stay that way!

No. The nymph has been going on, specifically about a Chinese copper bubble forever. Maybe she’s right. But I think it is equally probable that in the case of copper, that she isn’t. As to housing prices in China, I have no problem accepting the idea of a bubble. Commodity bubbles in China, I am more skeptical of. Those can be pushed out artificially for a good while by the stalwart Chinese.

Looking at the patterns of China Copper buying and selling over the last ten years…I don;’t see why it would be different this time at all. China has a lot of issues with local govts loans etc….btw, you forgot to mention the hydroplants too they are building and low cost housing, yet, there are conflicts in that because property developers have no interest in giving up land for that in china. I really hope it is a bubble because it is a perfect study of one for me.

For your sake, I hope so too. It is interesting anyways. May you rub my nose in this when it pops for you. But hydroelectric dams use copper, low cost housing uses copper, and housing developers have very little say in where hydrodams will go. 3 Gorges they just told a measly 1.4 million people to pack up and hit the road. It’s China. They do that there.
