Once upon a time, this site was buzzing with miscreants. Before Exodus stole all of the energy and thunder, the free site was where the conversation was to be had. Some of the drifters and grifters might suppose iBC is no longer vibrant or very worthwhile, judging by the sparse comments on the blog — but that just isn’t the case. Thousands of comments and insults are flung around in the Pelican Room on a daily basis. Ruminations of my demise are grossly exaggerated, in spite of my apparent and obvious ever-lasting strength.
My virility is such that if I was trapped inside the jungles of India, surrounded by nothing but tigers, I’d punch all of their faces off until I was back in my hotel room sipping on black tea (dash of honey, some milk).
What did I do this morning?

I sold MARA for +40%, FCEL for +33% and FNGU for +2.3% — just for good measure.

We’ve had several big swoons in this bull market, but I think the last one is different. The previous ones were usually some kind of debt worry (PIGS, oil, high yield), but 2018 Q4 drop was all about earnings of the uber-cap stocks. As I’ve said before: unless AAPL et.al are going to recover, the market has topped.
As every chartist can see, the major indeices are nearing the major resistance levels. Get ready for March Madness.
My thinking about the short side shifted somewhat with the unexpected strength in Vix.

My take, China is borrowing money at crazy levels now with slowdowns in Property, Cars, etc…China Govt with Xi for Life President needs to slow it down hard, if there is no Trade Deal then Xi blames USA for everything when their People suffer economy slows and China starts paying back loans. USA needs Trade Deal to show what a “Great Deal Maker” we are, so just like the Budget, NAFTA, etc anything China wants the USA will give them in the end…but Xi doesn’t want a deal cuz he has to slow down China and blame USA for it, so No Deal. Just like Brexit…what a mess…and No Deal either. BIG BIG BIG UGLY BUBBLE that I am amazed is still floating.
China more than anything wants to continue the exportation of unemployment to the US.
They fear economic upheaval like the plague.
Nope, Their Leadership is in for life. They need a good Plague to clear up a lot of those bad loans and major abuse they have. China thinks LONG term and they can write off so much with a crisis. China gets a plague and the ROW gets Global Depression.

The phenomenon is not restricted to iBC; the consolidation and centralization of conversation has been a trend for the past decade. How does one even find a place like this in an age where FB and Reddit have scooped up all the places where people used to converse? Even the dim bulbs at the pre-redesign YHOO message boards (and lordy, there were some dim bulbs there) could occasionally emit a photon or two of information amidst the spam, at least until Marissa decided to redesign the site to be more mobile-friendly and conversation-hostile. And the less said about Google+ the better. It’s not even unique to finbloggers; blogs themselves have ceased to be a thing, with publishers migrating to centralized platforms such as Medium and their ilk.
