i agree with Fly -I think if we open lower (which looks likely) we will turn up in the a.m. or midday. These days that’s sort of going out on a limb – but i still think we rise up into new years – again with the precursor that Trump tweets no stupid shit during trading hours. But i am looking to sell various tickets, unless things really go dicey / negative when we open, and then perhaps I might nibble.

Excellent theory, one that I would have bought 17 hours ago. I d o think that the open is a head fake created by weak hands calling their brokers yesterday and bailing. Form that perspective, i think we end higher today.
However with an open like this, do I think the SPY is going to overcome the pre-market dipd level and THEN rally a further 5% in two days to get back to the box. Nope, nope, nope.
Bulls will be wistfully wishing for the good old days when they were bouncing around the edge of an trap door, instead of present days of, “It rubs the lotion on its skin.” hell.
I’ve got a long bias with a large NFLX hedge, so something ought to work for me today. Whatever happens today, I’ll be (likely) positioning to see yesterday’s close again sometime tomorrow.
That box is looking more like a wave 2 counter-counter trend in a classic 3 wave correction from the prevailing trend, which makes us in the middle of an extended wave 3.
