Russia Claims to Have Proof Britain Staged Syrian Gas Attack

We know Russian forces have occupied the area where the alleged attack took place. Russian officials are on record saying there wasn’t an attack and it was a hoax.

Now this.

“The Russian Defense Ministry also has evidence that Britain had a direct involvement in arranging this provocation in Eastern Ghouta,” the general added, referring to the neighborhood of which Douma is part. “We know for certain that between April 3 and April 6 the so-called White Helmets were seriously pressured from London to speed up the provocation that they were preparing.”

According to Konashenkov, the group, which was a primary source of photos and footage of the purported chemical attack, was informed of a large-scale artillery attack on Damascus planned by the Islamist group Army of Islam, which controlled Douma at the time. The White Helmets were ordered to arrange the provocation after retaliatory strikes by the Syrian government forces, which the shelling was certain to lead to, he said.

Konashenkov said Russia hoped that international monitors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which is due to investigate the circumstances of the incident, will help establish the truth. He added Eastern Ghouta is currently trying to return to peaceful life after being liberated from militant groups by Syrian government forces. He called on other nations and international organizations to provide humanitarian aid, which is badly needed in the area. Russia is already supplying food, medicine, building materials and other essential supplies to the neighborhood, he said.

The reported chemical weapons attack escalated tensions over Syria, just as Damascus was about to seize full control of Eastern Ghouta. The US and allies such as the UK and France threatened military action in response to what they claim is an atrocity committed by the Syrian government. Russia insists the incident was staged and said it reserves the right to counter any attack on Syria.

On the other hand, Nikki Haley now says Syria has used chemical weapons ‘on its own people’ more than 50 times and is shilling hard for conflict.

The neocons and their tools like Haley are repugnant people. Always ready to sell lies and sell slaughter in order to gain power for themselves.

The rush to bomb Syrian installations was/is to destroy evidence of Soros’/MI6/CIA/Mossad involvement and complicity in this false flag provocation.

Why was the USG targeting the same place where the fake “gassing” occurred with tomahawks?
“… most of the cruise missiles targeting Syrian sites had been intercepted by Syrian air defenses, including all of those that were bound for the site from which last week’s alleged chemical attack originated.”

One question… who gave the authority to fight a war in Syria? It seems that it is a few people in DC that decided they want to do this and tough shit if you don’t agree. WTF is that?

They keep saying this is a civil war in Syria. Why are we involved? Who invited us? There are no mutual defense agreements with either side. I am so sick of this.

How about we default to not wanting to kill anyone? We’ve done enough in the Middle East. Time to mind our business.

I know people who want to fight. But that is a moot point given the realities of how war is conducted now.

You guys are all right. Russia is winning the war of bringing us down to their level – that is, EVERYTHING is fake and oligarchy is okay and you can’t trust anyone or anything anyway. Russia especially has us by the nut hairs on this.

But I agree default to not killing would have been the better choice in almost all instances I can think of.

And if we bomb it’s entirely illegal and unconstitutional and if it happens I might just start occupying my street corner with a sign and start the fucking protesting.

War on terror to date Americans:

    1.3 million dead

$6 trillion wasted — actually a conservative number.

    Countless wounded — lives shattered.

    Migration crisis of monumental proportions.

So pardon me as I cast extreme doubt onto anything my government tells me. Fuck the wars and fuck Syria.

No it was wasted. That money would not have been spent the military budget would not have bloated. Add another $5 trillion. Our debt would be ~$13-15 trillion without these wars. That’s a fact.

A good argument can be made that it was much worse than just wasted. We’ve earned a lot of hate ..a lot of enemies. Repercussions for this may not always be contained to deployed active military; about whom few seem to give a shit. This investment of yours is analogous to investing in oily rags in your basement.

Thank you Juice for this important post of yours …reminding us that that we should not allow the thought/speech policing slomos of the world to cow us with their name-calling:

(“We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” (John F Kennedy, 1962)

“Goebbels was in favor of free speech for views he liked. So was Stalin. If you’re really in favor of free speech, then you’re in favor of freedom of speech for precisely the views you despise. Otherwise, you’re not in favor of free speech.” (Noam Chomsky)

Russia wants access to a Mediterranean port and Assad is giving it to them. They have supported Assad for many years for this reason. So Russia is hardly an objective party with regard to this conflict or Assad. And Russia’s government is not one that is committed to truth, to make the understatement of the year.

That being said, the one thing I do agree with Fly on, is that the U.S. has accomplished nothing in its Middle Eastern wars except to make the MIC rich. So there’s no reason to believe that further conflicts would be any different from that.

Trump announces he’s thinking of pulling forces from Syria.
Days later – Assad allegedly gasses civilians in an apparent plea for US forces to remain.

It makes no sense. Assad could have bombed the hell out of those same civilians and nobody would have cared. “Syria is a warzone,” they would say. But using gas begs for a response. Why on earth would Assad, knowing the US might be ready to GTFO, make sure that not only do they stay, but they ramp up involvement?

Maybe Assad is just an idiot that has somehow managed to rule Syria for however long, in which case every single Syrian is too stupid to be allowed citizenship in the West.

Trump’s announcement that he was pulling forces from Syria was taken by Assad as an All Clear signal that he could get away with doing anything he wants.

And even if not, last time Assad did this, the U.S. bombed the area around a base, and didn’t even hit the air strips. And Assad’s forces were using the base again in less than 24 hours. So Assad probably expects a similar response, at worst.

Of course not. I never said there was. I said that Russia’s got a deal with Assad that they’re getting significant benefits from So Russia is not the objective source of info on Assad that people here are claiming.

Change the name to whatever you want but the root is strategic energy security. All the ME is about is energy and it is highly unlikely the west will let Russia grow stronger yet in Syria. This will not go away. Plan accordingly.

It’s about the medium of exchange for energy and Israel. If European energy security was the sole concern, couldn’t we and our allies in Europe simply have established friendly relations with Moscow in order to assure a steady supply of nat gas …instead of initiating a new cold (hopefully) war? Energy security is threatened by everything we have done over there.
