As with all mid east issues, there are multi faceted complications not mentioned here. Without a US presence, Iran, Syria and Russia consolidate power in the region unmolested. Security risk thus increases for USA and regional allies. Russia is that much closer to establishing a permanent foothold in mid east. Not good for anyone except Russia, Iran and Syria.
