GOOD NEWS TRUMPSTERS: The Border Wall Has Been Funded in Trump’s Bloated Omnibus Bill

When can impeachment proceedings begin?

Remember all of those people you pissed off because you supported an Orange Gorilla for President, a man who openly said he liked to grab women by the pussy and a variety of unsavory things about race and SHITHOLE nations abroad? You swallowed Trump’s black pills because you wanted the red one — hoping to see an end to FUCKERY at the DOD and their endless wars and you really wanted illegal immigration to end because, well, heroin was being ferried into the country and the border states were being overrun by Mexicans who’d work for donuts — pushing down working class wages.

GOOD NEWS FAGGOTS: Trump got funding for a border wall, only it resides in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Tunisia.

OMNIBUS BEATDOWN

SEC. 9011. Up to $500,000,000 of funds appropriated by this Act for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in ‘‘Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide’’ may be used to provide assistance to the Government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.

For the ‘‘Counter-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Train and Equip Fund’’, $1,769,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2019 …

Via Raytheon 2015 report, boasting about border wall contract.

“Our team has delivered on that model supporting [U.S. government] DTRA border security contracts across the world in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and in Jordan.

“In total, the systems we have installed protect 4,500 miles of borders.”

More

That these funds may be used in such amounts as the Secretary of Defense may determine to enhance the border security of nations adjacent to conflict areas including Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia re- sulting from actions of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria: Provided further, That amounts made available under this heading shall be available to provide assistance only for activities in a country designated by the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, as having a security mission to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and following written notification to the congressional defense committees of such designation:Provided further, That the Secretary of Defense shall en-sure that prior to providing assistance to elements of any forces or individuals, such elements or individuals are ap-propriately vetted, including at a minimum, assessing such elements for associations with terrorist groups or groups associated with the Government of Iran; and receiving commitments from such elements to promote respect for human rights and the rule of law

In all, the bill funds border security abroad to the tune of $9 billion, whilst DISALLOWING Trump to use a single dollar on any of the Homeland Security designed walls on our southern border. It only permits a fence or two, perhaps perform maintenance on existing infrastructure in San Diego.

Rand Paul disgusted by it — but he’s a powerless loser.

Sen. Paul actually read the entire two thousand+ page bill and tweeted his thoughts, which spends a record $1.3 trillion in American tax payers dollars. Here are some of the lowlights.

This guy nearly stroked out. Congrats to Trump for reassuring our hatred for all elected officials.

And of course Ann the horse Coulter says this bill will lead to Blohnald Drumpf’s impeachment.

    I like this Omnibus bill. We need to stop being selfish and we must put the safety and security of our bestest jewish friends in Israel first. It’s the right thing to do. This wall must be built to protect Israel. We must make appropriate sacrifices, financial as well as with our lives and lives of our children, to protect and serve our special jewish compatriots in Israel. Our lives and the lives of our sons are meaningless and worthless unless we can die for Israel so our jewish friends can expand outside of their borders and enjoy comfortable lebensraum of Greater Israel.

    Well … Ann Coulter is a little too far to the right for my liking. But Trump has, for now, thrown his constituency under the bus – largely due to his own party – not the Democrats. We will have to see how things progress from here.

    It is interesting that the Democrat candidates are becoming, on the face of it, much more conservative. Where are the Republicans?

    Trump is talking about a line item veto. Good luck with that. The last time this was written into law was the Constitution of the Confederate States – during the 1860s. We all know how that ended. Yankees don’t like line item vetoes.

      The Supreme Court doesn’t like line-item-vetos, either. Normally, I’d expect the President to know that…

      Democrats will act “conservative” until they gain power. It’s always the minority party complaining about massive overspending. When it is the Democrat’s bill, they will defend the excessive spending on their lobbyist’s pet projects and the Republicans will rediscover their “conservative” roots.

      Exactly. The MSM will ensure the narrative around this fiasco is aimed squarely at Trump. But the blame should be placed squarely on the shoulders of a few Republican and Democrat Congressmen. You watch the aftermath – their names will not appear:

      Nancy Pelosi
      Chuck Shumer
      Paul Ryan
      Mitch McConnell.

        The problem with the “Gang of Four” above is this: in their eyes they are not obliged to introduce prudent and beneficial constitutional legislation; which, by the way, is the reason Congress exists.

        For these swamp creatures, success is simply whether or not they can garner enough signatures to pass it. Nothing else matters.

    Please indulge my familiar rant… do the angry working class understand what happens to consumer prices if foreigners are not permitted to work here for low wages?

    It takes a while for wages to catch up to consumer prices. Especially when things like grocery prices are invisible to policy makers.

      That increase in labor costs is a pay raise for the “working class”.

      So people had to hire Americans to pick crops, build houses, staff theme parks, and act as live-in baby sitters, then the wages of all those jobs would go up. Also, the wages of other low-icome jobs such as retail big- box store and fast-food restaurants would also go up because they would have (1) more pricewage price competition and (2) a smaller labor pool.

      These wage gains would trevel up the income ladder (at a diminishing rate). Now of course, this would result in price increases. However, 100% of the price increase could not (and would not) be passed on to the customers, as most business don’t have pricing power that strong. Also, labor is only one component of pricing..

      The net effect would be that the bottom 20% would have a tremendous incresase in buying power **even given inflation**. This balcne would shift as you move up the income ladder to the point where the top 20% would see a large decreasse in their purchasing power becausae they would likely not see their wages go up but would see the earning power of their assets go down.

    Are we surprised? Stuff like this border defense gets in because it’s for Israel. Every congressperson knows that if they do anything but say amen to what the Israeli government wants, they will be primaried.

    Since Camp David, the three biggest recipients of foreign aid are 1 Israel directly, 2 Israel (in the guise of a payoff to Egypt, the most populous country in the region, to not go to war with Israel), and 3 Israel (in the guise of aid to Jordan so that they will provide a geo-buffer for Israel). No kids, our foreign aid does not go to some African country to fight disease and such, it goes to benefit one single already-wealthy country.

    Americans and our press will piss and moan all day long about defending our southern border, but if Israel wants something, there is no noise, no debate. Why? If you want to know who is running things, find out who we are not allowed to criticize.

    They’re gearing up for more war. Wars that have proven to be disastrous for both us and for Israel …the country that they were supposed to help. Only when we cut the cord for Israel will they perhaps find the will to learn to live with their neighbors. We are doing neither ourselves nor them any good.

    LOL, nice post Fly.

    I see a lot of our foreign spendign as Homeland Security. Fire a Cruise missile, kill 5 terrorist and create 10 more. $20m for Middle East Partnership Initiative? Bargain for the goodwill it would buy.

    On the other hand: $218m for Promoting Democracy Development in Europe? I thought that was what the CIA was for.

    $1.371 bn for Contributions to International Organizations? What is that, the UN? Need more info.

    $2.696bn for International Disaster Assistance. Well, Western copanies siphon a lot of natural resoruces at bargain prices, so I’m okay with this.

    Of course, if you REALLY care about saving money, you start where the money is:
    Five ships: $10.4 Billion
    (before the inevitable cost overruns, so let’s say $15B illion conservatively)

    Ohio Replacement Submarine (AP), $861,853,000;
    Carrier Replacement Program (CVN 80), $1,569,646,000;
    Carrier Replacement Program (CVN 79), $2,561,058,000;
    (I’ll note that the US already has more carriers than the rest of the warld combined, and our carriers are bigger and more powerful thatn anybody elses.)
    Virginia Class Submarine, $3,305,315,000;
    Virginia Class Submarine (AP), $2,145,596,000;

      Oops, forgot theses ones:

      DDG–51 Destroyer, $3,357,079,000;
      Littoral Combat Ship, $1,566,971,000;
      Amphibious Ship Replacement, $1,800,000,000;
      LHA Replacement, $1,710,927,000;

      So that’s $18,878,445,000.00 (Let’s say $30B after cost overrruns).

      That’s not including these other ships:

      TAO Fleet Oiler, $457,988,000;
      TAO Fleet Oiler (AP), $75,068,000;
      Towing, Salvage, and Rescue Ship, $76,204,000;
      T–AGS Oceanographic Survey Ship, $180,000,000;
      Service Craft, $62,994,000;
      Polar Icebreakers, $150,000,000.

      or this seabase (?):
      Expeditionary Sea Base, $635,000,000;

      or Billlions in ***unspecified*** procurement
      Other Procurement, Navy $7,941,018,000,000.00
      This is just pocket change, so needs no further Budget detail, I suppose

      Support our Defense Contractors! USA, USA, USA!

      Also:
      AIRCRAFT PROCUREMENT, NAVY $19,957,380,000,(unspecified)
      AIRCRAFT PROCUREMENT, AIR FORCE $18,504,556,000, (unspecified)

      So the Navy spends more on aircraft than the Air Force, and almost as much on aircraft as it does on ships.

      Maybe with this new budget, we will *finally* have a military force that can stand up to Russia, or to China, or to Iran, or to North Korea.
      Or to Germany, or to Engalnd, or to France, or to Israel
      Or to every other country on Earth at the same time, becuase I guess that is the plan once Trump starts WW III.

      This is not quite so clear. The national budget/expediture falls within two categories: mandatory and discretionary. Congress does not allocate the mandatory budget – this is done automatically by law. So this budget was to allocate discretionary spending.

      Trump’s OMB proposed a discretionary budget of about $1.1 trillion in February – over half of this for defense (under Secretary Mattis).

      But Congress seems to largely have ignored Trump’s request in the Omnibus Budget; also this does not mean it will be spent. Congress will have to appropriate these amounts (Senate and House Appropriations Committees). This is a very opaque process that reportedly often bypasses the rules.

      So first Congress appropriates, then the Executive spends. Considering what is in this bill – how it includes basically everything the Democrats wanted and more, it puts everything into play.

      Meaning – if the Democrats take control of the Congress this fall, they will take charge of Appropriations, with an unbelievable, fully-budgeted left wing agenda in hand. There will be Shumer Phones, Unisex Public Toilets and Gun grabbers on every street corner.

      Wheter you want to call it a “budget” or not is completely irrelvant.

      Unsurprisingly, you are greatly ill-informed about the use and power of the word “shall” in legal documents, and/or its 4387 occurences in this bill. The President does have some leeway, but not nearly as much as you think (or hope).

      No unbiased intelligent person thinks Trump’s or Sanders’ popularity was due *solely* – or even mostly – to Russia. At the same time, you can’t deny that Russia helped these candidates. I’d estiamte that Russia provided no more than a 10% boost to either candidate. However, it is also noteworthy that there is a lot of smoke in the Trump-Russia collusion prospectms, but nothing linking Sanders to the Russians.

      I will say that Bernie and Trump *supporters* do share many economic beleifs in realtion to the workign class and econmic disparity. However the Trump adminsitration actions show that Trump himself is just another 1%er. Exhibit 1 is the Trump Tax Bill, the one that Trump promised would help the working class and raise his own tax rates. Contrast that with Bernie’s push for higher minimum wages and single-payer health care, definitely not 1%er goals.

    America is in decline society-wise, education-wise, health-wise, and politically. It cannot be stopped except maybe with a terrible World War that resets the World. The only thing we have going for us is the business environment, our well-established dominant companies and *some* top-tier universities. Those competitive advantages will eventually be overcome by other countires in which case America will truly be a shell of its former-self and unlivable to most decent folk. If you’re younger than 50, I would suggest looking to establish backup citizenship somewhere else like New Zealand or maybe Singapore.
