This actually makes more sense than 99% of the blockchain ideas out there.
The decentralized cloud storage blockchain idea is awesome. I’ve been dabbling with Sia Tech and it’s pretty sweet so far. Hard to get the currency to pay for the 6 months of service but it’s dirt cheap for 1TB of storage. If you are into cloud stuff vs 1TB of local storage.
Rights to your photos online is a big issue so I can see where this comes into a good use case.

Doesn’t matter. Imagine owning to rights on platforms like AMZN that Chinese copycats are using. You petition to Amazon that you own the rights to the photo but can’t prove it. This solves that.

Re image copyrights. w/o getting too technical here. It solves nothing. The algo they use is similar, if not the same, as Goolag image reverse/recognition. All it takes is to change image aspect ratio, rotate/shift by measly 1/4degree, flip to mirror, strip image headers and rewrite, convert to diff format and goolag fails miserably. Try it. Machines still cannot ID what human eye can see and recognize.
Imagine petitioning to Amazon that you own the image…your watermark doesn’t mean shit. But if you can time stamp it on the blockchain there’s no debate..
Kodak management has proved time and again that their primary skill set is screwing things up!
