Andrew Left from Citron Research is calling for the FTC to investigate the company for being an Herbal Life tier scam — preying on retards with promises of becoming a millionaire. I am not surprised, whatsoever. Canadians, innately, lack the moral compass to conduct business without schemes. To back up my assertion, I point you to Blackberry, Nortel, Canadian Goose etc.
So what’s the problem?
Out of the claimed 500,000 websites, Shopify has about 2,500 “Plus” clients and maybe another 20,000 “Advanced”. So where are the other 450,000 + websites????
Funny, this problem was first addressed when Shopify CEO Tobias Lutke knocked on Venture Capital’s door. As we read in a Bloomberg article.
I guess the great minds on Sand Hill Road never thought that the pressure of Wall Street can cause some companies to cross over to the dark side.
Citron will expose the mystery behind those “other web sites”. Just like analyst reports don’t discuss churn, they miss Shopify’s deepest darkest secret.
IT’S A FUCKING SCHEME.
IT’S A FUCKING SCHEME.
IT’S A FUCKING SCHEME.
IT’S A FUCKING SCHEME.
IT’S A FUCKING SCHEME.
The stock fell by 11% today on this report. The stock is up 139% year to date, trading 23x sales.
At a minimum, Left says the stock is worth $55 before the FTC gets involved.

Is it a villian you want?
I’ll play the part.
After all, what is a drama without a villian?
What is the building of this grand road if not a drama?
This business is not for the weak of heart.
It’s a thorney, brutal affair that rewards the lion for his ferocity.
What of the zebra?
What of the poor zebra?
Well, the zebra’s eaten as the zebra should be.
Make no mistake, blood will be spilled,
lives will be lost,
fortunes will be made,
men will be ruined.
There will be betrayal, and scandal,
and perfidy of epic proportions,
but the lion shall prevail.
You see, the secret I know is this.
All of history is driven by the lion.
We drag the poor zebra, kicking and braying.
Staining the earth with his cheap blood.
History doesn’t remember us fondly.
But then history is written for the zebra by the zebra.
One hundred years hence,
when this railroad spans the continent
and America rises to be the greatest power the world has seen,
I will be remembered as a caitiff, a malefactor,
who only operated out of greed for personal gain.
All true, all true.
But remember this.
Without me, and men like me,
your glorious railroad would never be built.
Having a canadian wife and being where I am I better not tell you what is going on here but I tell you, gtfo anything pinko commie Canadian
Eh-hem…moral compass? Enron, Worldcom, Chesapeake energy, oh, and the housing/banking/derivatives fiasco that nearly fucked the whole world.
Yes, we had Bre-x, that fucked up a lot of people, but it was a junior gold miner. More for it’s entertainment value than anything serious.
Nortel, yes, some accounting scandal. But it failed because they were idiots that didn’t listen to their customers and failed to adapt to changing environments. No scheme.
Blackberry, same thing, no scheme, just clinging to an idiotic phone failing to remember the world moves faster than the 1950s.
Canada Goose? Scheme, no. Just lacking moral decency to treat animals nicely.
So let us not talk falsely now. American companies have far more moral failings and schemes to answer for.
My son has a Shopify store. It is amazing. Everything is linked; Facebook, Google metrics, Paypal and his Shopify store all talk to each other in real time, spitting out whatever data you want whenever you want it.
He does $10k business on a weekend, and he can find out at any time what platform people use (5% PC, 10$ tablet, 85% phones), how long people spend looking at his ads and how many of them buy, how many add to cart but don’t go through with it, how often they order other shit on the internet, what country they live in, etc, etc.etc.
The company is real and it is great. It does everything it says it does and more.
This guy is just using his profile to try and make a quick buck.
