Mnuchin Shoots Down Sec. Lew Plot to Oust Jackson for Tubman on $20 Bill

Last year, Sec. Lew announced that ‘slave holding’ Andrew Jackson would be ousted from the $20 bill, in favor of Harriet Tubman. There was a great debate over this and Lew’s final decision to leave Hamilton intact, thanks to fervent lobbying by the cast of the Broadway play Hamilton, was lauded and praised by President Obama.

Now that nazis are in charge of the White House, it looks like that plan has been sidetracked, setting aside identity politics for a moment in favor of more pressing things.

CNBC’s Steve Liesman tried to goad Sec. Mnuchin into this debate this morning. Here was the brief exchange.

I realize there are lots of racist nazis on this website too. But the question remains, should all slaveholders be removed from US currencies?

Would rather have a gun toting Republican on the $20 than the racist founder of the Democrat party. Democrat party no different today than when founded.

Considering the fact that the US Treasury is mentioned on our notes, backed by banks, the biggest slaveholders of our society, the entire monetary system should be removed from society thus forcing us back to precious metals and bartering.

Slavery is slavery whether one is owned or indentured. That is why both were protected under the same clause of the Constitution until the 13th Amendment was ratified in 1865. But all Americans became indentured servants once again when the Federal Reserve and Income Tax were introduced on Christmas Eve of 1913.

Mnuchin doesn’t care about portraits on cash, because he’s planning to eliminate it all anyway. Problem solved.

Lincoln has some extremely racist quotes that have not yet been removed from the internet. Check them out. Want to trigger a communist? Cite those.

The treasury should create a $3 bill with a portrait of Obama. Tubman can be honored on the back of such bill with artwork depicting her shoving a broom handle up Obama’s ass.

Do you think they’ll go for it? Maybe something other than a broom handle?

Can we just put Obama on everything? No past or future President can top him.

A new $1 gold coin is in order with Trump’s bust on the front and Mar-A-Lago on fhe back.

    Most definitely.

“But the question remains, should all slaveholders be removed from US currencies?”
Slippery slope translation: should we wipe out Geoge Washington from our currency and monuments? My read (along with most people), is that we judge people in the context of their times.

Washington was a slaveholder who could not see a way around it as a plantation owner but opposed it morally; Jackson actively supported slavery.

So, no, being a slaveholder 200 years ago should not disqualify someone from a place of honor in the US.
