Ethereum Soars, Closing in on Bitcoin to Become World’s Largest Cryptocurrency

ETH is higher by 14% early going, while BTC is down 3%. All of the faggots are selling Bitcoins to buy Ethereum — because it’s ‘cheap’ and MUH fiat currency. After all, ethereum was $8 in the beginning of the year. Now that it’s nearing $400, some cryptocurrency traders think it’s a good buy.

Amusingly, very few people saw this coming — the king of digital money, Bitcoin, being dethroned by an upstart. But that’s exactly what is going to happen. This move has the feeling of inevitability, and this is coming from someone who knows little about the crypto markets. I just know markets and I know psychology. Those fucking faggots will keep buying ETH and selling BTC until ETH’s market cap is greater. That’s the big play here.

You can watch the fun here.

As of now, the total cryptocurrency market is worth $111b — aka real money. There is a ~9b spread between ETH and BTC and it’s closing fast.

Until the EMP blast wipes it all away

You can store bitcoin offline, even on paper. I expect you can with the rest as well.

If EMPs wiped the entire internet out in a non-recoverable way, getting my cryptocurrency back will be the least of my worries, and very likely all of my ordinary money is gone as well, along with any equity value in all the now defunct companies.

Short of that, the distributed peer to peer nature of blockchain actually offers more resilience than most banks would have against EMP attacks. With a bank all you’d need to do is take out their data centers and all of their backups (extra Mr. Robot).

What you could do with your cryptocurrency in a dystopian future scenario is another question entirely.

It’s all bullshit gambling no matter how one slices this crypto market. I could perhaps see the logic of higher price of BTC which has a limited supply hard limit of 21MM “tokens” (for now) but what is this bullshit with ethereum and the projected total supply to be approximately 210 – 230 million ETC and no hard limit? Ppl must be getting tired of gambling in rigged stawk markets.

gambling or not, fortunes were made. Just like tech 1999. Shows we have become old by having that mind frame and making those comments. I am in same camp.

        Fortunes were made AND lost.

My biggest reason for staying out is my brother in law. Never worked in tech or finance, mostly a beer guzzling stay at home football fan-err, dad. Works some construction. Now he calls himself a cryptocurrency investor, and at our most recent family gathering was regaling me with the 10 hours/day research he’s putting into picking the virtual wheat from the chaff, and how I’d be an idiot not to jump on the pixelated bandwagon.

          This cannot end well.
