Growing up in Brooklyn, pre-gentrification era, the way we settled disputes in my neighborhood was to punch each other in the face until both parties were exhausted. After the fight, we’d make up and go chase down an iced cream truck together and then see about a game of stickball.
Now today a bunch of Trumpsters descended upon Berkeley, in an effort to rally for ‘free speech.’ You and I both know they went there angling for a confrontation. Lucky for them, there were plenty of left-leaning scum, with enough time on their hands in between smoking legal marijuana at their local skateboarding parks, to oblige them.
On the right were genuine American heros, clad in capes and make shift armor — adorned in the splendor of the American flag. They fought bravely and with honor.

Wow your in highschool heckler and never been in a fight? By the time I was in highschool probably been in about 20 . Also Brooklyn pre hipster era .I think the fly and his friends would to my junior highschool for some brawls in the mid 1990’s sticking up for some of their little brothers and sisters. Our junior high had some 6’5 250lb 18 yr olds, hard for a 12 yr old to take them down without a bat or some brass knuckles.
I got my fighting done in junior high as well, fun times. I never threw the first punch but sometimes the last. A kid in gym class came up and for no apparent reason started pounding on my shoulder. I replied with an upward blow to his midsection. He looked like he was going to throw up, then fell flat on his face, knocked the fuck out. He was OK except for the stitches in his chin from hitting the floor. Learned what the solar plexus is later.
Around the time I started high school I took Tae Kwon Do (extra Ralph Macchio) and my confidence went up a lot. I was never in a fight again. I don’t think those two statements are a coincidence.
