The sources I read think that Jared is president now– that there was a peaceful transfer of power from Bannon to Jared. No one knows for sure yet though. Time will tell.

Trump goes with his gut a lot. Most of his brain matter is superfluous, just to help regulate basic functions.
I guess, within the context of American culture, it makes sense that people would believe that Trump was sane and that he would make a competent president. Every culture has its religion and religious beliefs.
Americans worship at the Church of the Almighty Dollar. Since Fly is in the finance field, of course he would be particularly religious. It’s like being a priest would be, in other cultures. Our religion says that every billionaire is wise beyond words, competent at every task, more intelligent than other people, and totally sane. So Americans treat very wealthy people as if they are superior and sane- even if they are nothing of the kind. Billionaire business men are worshiped as gods here. So everyone is blind to their flaws.
Oh, we have the Christian religion, but that is just a joke. Its primary function if political and economic, not religious. It’s a nonprofit business that takes in lots of cash, and that tells people who to vote for in government– the Right Wing, the government of, by and for the .01% that screws everyone else.
One more thing that people don’t want to hear, here. It’s entirely possible that Trump, being as narcissistic as he is, considers his main job now to be selling his properties and services, and considers the presidency only a means to that end.
He may have simply been trying to sell Mar A Lago memberships to the TV viewing public. He doubled the membership fee to $200,000 since he became president. He may have been saying “Who cares about war? Join the golf club with the scrumptious chocolate cake, and we’ll throw in access to the U.S. president as a bonus.”
I was a supporter only because I hate HRC and wanted to see the DC status quo get blown up. I was also in favor of lower corporate taxes, stronger border, better equipped military. But like you, I don’t feel the Syria attack was required. And this North Korea showdown has fail written all over it. Combined with the healthcare disaster, tax relief now looking to be in jeopardy, etc., it’s going down hill fast. And interviews like this are just embarrassing.

I think Mr. Trump’s public imaging, messaging and marketing reflects the dumb-down of most of the population. For the most part Americans are not the sharpest tools in the shed. Trump is styling his domestic imaging for idiots. If you take a look around in most areas of the country, you may conclude this is a rational approach.
That does make some sense. Americans on the whole are pretty dumb. That’s why propaganda works so well here. It’s easy to persuade people to just keep voting for Republicans– and when the Republicans Congress keeps screwing them over and over again, and they’re mad about that, who do they elect? Even more Republicans. Dumber than a box of nails.
