In economic theory, migrations from Middle East and Africa are vital for increasing economic growth in developed nations that have low fertility levels. USA, Japan, France, Germany, Spain, etc all need migrations to reach a higher level of potential growth.

Maybe instead of taking thousands upon thousands of middle aged men, Merkel and co could have focused more on accepting families and children. An adoption process and proper European schooling could have lead to cultural assimilation.

And, truth be told, there is a chance, in the long run, it can be — if their religious zealotry moderated. However, for ‘legacy’ populous, it sure does suck to see your neighborhood get filled with reprobate savages. It take a good 1-2 generations before immigrants can be properly assimilated, if at all.
