Donald Trump Announces Ford Will Keep Plant in Kentucky and Ditch Plans to Move Jobs to Mexico

America is becoming great again, whether you like it or not.

Listen to me. This is a huge win. Couple this with the fact that Apple is exploring ways to move their suicide factory from China to America, and it appears Trump is beginning to punch off the faces of globalist scum.

And here’s Fortune, just two days ago, looking like complete jackasses for running a story saying that $F was still moving the plant to Mexico –whether Trump liked it or not.

UPDATE: The jackasses from Fortune weren’t talking about the KY plant, but in fact the Michigan one. I am now, inexorably, fake news.

UPDATE II: There’s some fake news being circulated by the leftist lunatics at Washpo suggesting the plant was never moving in the first place. In a statement to Bloomberg, Ford confirmed exactly what Trump tweeted.

“We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the U.S.,” the automaker said in an e-mailed statement.

I love it, no media intercession needed, directly from Prez elect to the people and full transparency so mr ford doesn’t try and backtrack

The article talks about moving small car manufacturing out of Michigan and to Mexico. The plant in Kentucky is being used to make a new SuperDuty pickup. Read the article.

Admittedly, I keyword searched to get the article.

“We already have the plants and investment in other parts of the world. It frees us up to make further investments in the U.S.,” Fields said, pointing to the money invested to launch a new SuperDuty pickup at a plant in Kentucky.

I am now fake news. Censor me.

Confirmed from the Ford spokeswoman: Ford spokeswoman Christin Baker said late on Thursday the automaker “confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly plant will stay in Kentucky.”

“We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States,” she added, in a statement. – Reuters (Obviously Fake)

ReRead the article and the tweet. He is talking about the Lincoln plant, not the SuperDuty plant that they were planning to build.

I guess the point is that they have many plants. The Donald is not going to prevent them from moving certain operations to Mexico. In this case, small car manufacturing is leaving Michigan and moving to Mexico.

Believe me, they don’t want to move plants to Mexico. As they said in the article, they have no choice due to low cost of gasoline… I’m unsure what that means, but I’m assuming they’ve done an extensive study and found that it doesn’t make financial sense to manufacture small cars in the US.

I used to work for one of the big 3 in Detroit, I can assure you they are already perverted and will do anything they can to save money. They will also do a tremendous amount of stupid things to waste money.

    Off this topic….

Was just perusing Musk’s solar shingle sales pitch and came to the conclusion he is overlooking something very basic to success of this product. At least he did not address it in the blurb he produced to hype the product.

Who is going to install these things?

You have two different, that is completely different trades, involved here.
Roofers typically are pretty basic in the intelligence department. Solar shingles are going to require electrical connections and likely very specific installation details.
Electricians are typically higher on the intelligence level, akin to mechanical guys, but they know ziltch about what goes into installing a weather tight roof.

Sometimes the devil is indeed in the details.
