German Police Raid the Homes of 40 People for Anti Refugee ‘Internet Hate Speech’

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have been assisting governments in monitoring people, making sure they be punished for anything the power structure deems as ‘hate speech’.

Over in Merkel’s Germany, they’re fed up with people talking shit about the millions of Islamic refugees invading their cities. Thanks in large part to the eager help of Facebook, the Bundeskriminalamt have been able to arrest these people for their grave and most heinous crimes.

The country’s federal police agency – the Bundeskriminalamt, or BKA – said in a press release that it was the first nationwide use of police force to combat hate speech on the internet.

In December, the trio of internet giants agreed with Germany and pledged to delete hate speech from their services within 24 hours to help fight a rising tide of online racism in the wake of the country’s influx of refugees.

Facebook, for one, for months had been laying the groundwork to make 24-hour take-down a reality.

Under pressure from Germany, the company launched a hate-speech task force in September to deal with anti-refugee posts.

In fact, before it even sat down with German Justice Minister Heiko Maas in September, the company had agreed to do three things in the wake of the previous month’s anti-immigration violence.

Namely, Facebook promised to:

Partner with FSM, a German self-regulatory group of multimedia service providers.

Start the hate speech task force, working with nonprofits, companies, and government officials, including Maas.

Establish a campaign to promote “counter speech” in Germany, drawing in experts from the UK and Scandinavia to develop ways to combat racism and xenophobia through discussions on social media.

Facebook, along with Twitter and YouTube, are also now facing legal action in France over hate speech.

The BKA said that Wednesday’s raids in Germany were meant to confront what it calls a substantial rise in “verbal radicalism” and related offenses.

Western societies are barreling towards authoritarianism.

You can bet Trump will. That guy will have an enemies list a mile long and the tools to destroy anyone who challenges him. He is a danger to our imperfect democracy. You are watching it unfold. Get your head out of your ass for once.

The fact that American companies assist in the elimination of any kind of speech is frightening. This is Stalinist behavior on the part of Germany. Disgusting.

Make no mistake that Hillary Clinton will absolutely go this route.

Hillary is an establishment politician, and that’s a problem for me. She’s not for many of the policies I prefer. But neither is she the Anti-Christ, guilty of all the tons of things Right Wing media accuses her of.

If anyone thinks Hillary plans to do what Germany is doing here, then cite your evidence for that.

I know Right Wing media believes that all Democratic politicians are guilty until proven innocent, of everything anyone accuses them of. But guilty until proven innocent is not the way the law works in the U.S.

This is more stuff like all the bs about how Obama is going to take all guns away. Right Wing media has been saying that for the past 7-1/2 years, to get people all fired up and get them to vote Republican. And it has worked, as we have 2 GOP controlled Houses of Congress, and most governors and state legislatures are controlled by the GOP. But it’s obviously a lie. Because if Obama was going to do that, he sure would have done it by now.

It took you 3 paragraphs to say the following:

“I trust Hillary because I don’t trust Republicans.”

Focus, Frog. Focus. It takes a clouded mind to pull the lever for Hillary.

Infiitezuul, you are the one who can’t focus. I may be verbally skilled and a bit verbose myself. But I did not say “I trust Hillary because I don’t trust Republicans.” And I also never said I would be pulling the lever for Hillary.

If your idea of “focusing” means “putting words in other people’s mouths, that they never said”, then I’ll pass on it.

I guess it makes life simple for people to assume that every last voter is either madly in love with Hillary and believes she is perfect, or else madly in love with Trump and believes he is perfect. But that is not the case.

frog, this election is about hate, not love. People will vote for Trump because they hate Hillary more, or vote for Hillary because they are drug-addled feminists, blind to reality and on the verge of total insanity. And because they hate Trump more.

No idea where you got the “love and believe to be perfect” idea.

And, frog, you and I are not so dissimilar. For instance, we both type words onto this blog page. The only area where we drift apart is where you rant incoherently about Republican Conspiracies at the slightest indication that someone might not be a Democrat I adopt a mellow and reasonable outlook and use facts to come to conclusions in a very cold, emotionless sort of way.

I am a man of principal and of science. I enjoy light conversation, brevity, and levity. I believe all lives matter and that Trump should set up Reeducation Centres in Louisiana and Iowa. I believe these Centres should educate people like yourself for free. It would go something like this:

You watch a movie [many of your classmates will be functionally illiterate, so movies it is], then you take a test.

If you pass the test, you leave.

If you fail the test, you watch another, longer movie.

You get three chances to watch the movies and pass the test. If you cannot pass the test after the third try, well, who knows what happens. I never heard from him again. I think he moved out of the country.

tc, your article is mostly about the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, not about Hillary. The article says the United States is hosting an international conference, and the author jumps to the conclusion that the conference is going to outlaw free speech. I don’t think it is.

But let’s wait and see if it does, by all means.

Just sounds like more Right Wing scare tactics to me. No facts or evidence there that Hillary is planning to stop free speech. Just the author jumping to unwarranted conclusions.

Frog, the OIC goes around the world trying to outlaw speech that is negative towards Islam and in that article you see Hillary supporting their efforts. This is just one example of her being against free speech, there are many many more. This is not a scare tactic, just a fact.

Just because Right Wing propagandists are successfully spreading paranoia about it, does not mean there is any factual evidence for it.

I just googled Obama born in Kenya and got literally 592,000 results. Of course people BELIEVE propaganda, if the Right Wing Powers That Be spread it far and wide, on Internet, TV, and radio. That does not make it fact. They also spread fears about ebola spreading all across the U.S., and zika virus etc. etc. That doesn’t mean it ever happened or ever will happen.

In the meantime Forbes just posted an article by some guy gushing over how Pokeman has changed his life probably forever. He’s gone from being lazy “working” from home to running around town chasing gremlins (apparently giving up that important work). In hipster politically correct western world this concept of working is just so yesterday

The fact that there are many millions of people like frog in this country causes me to nearly give up hope for it. We will continue to sink ever lower, in terms of freedom, liberty, morality and justice.
Rational thought and philosophy begins with the understanding the “utopia” will never be achieved. The “freedoms” currently being contested such as gay rights, Black lives matter, and Occupy whatever, for example, represent the denigration of natural laws and order and respect for ones peers and fellow members of society.
Civilization has seen this pattern repeat countless times over the course of history.
But then….history isn’t really taught anymore is it….so what else could we expect?

Hillary will by any measure, trample or at least attempt to trample the 1st, 4th and 5th amendments even more than they already have been and completely do away with the only one the supports all the others. The 2nd.

May we never fear our ability to say what we are thinking. We all have the choice to censor our thoughts before we speak. But we should not fear what we choose to say. Unless, and there is always an “unless”, what you are saying is a direct violation of the law; such as libel, slander, defamation, and fighting words. It sickens me that social media chooses to act as police in deciding what they consider hate speech.

    Idiots

What do you think politically correct speech is? It’s the beginning of this. Europe is ahead of us on this one.

Micro aggressions, safe zones, colleges banning speech they don’t like.

    It’s started already.

      I’m partially in agreement.

Banning right-wing speech on campuses – or overly agressive harassment of right-wingers on campuses – should stop.

Safe zones have always been around in some form or another – look at FCC+prime time TV oveer the last 50(?) years. Not a problem at all. Now, you can take this too far, such as people gettign hurt/offended just from others talkign abou a Trump presidency.

At the same time, you can’t just lump and dismiss everything as PC. Fo example, I don’t go around calling women b*tches. This isn’t because I’m trying to be PC, it’s because I’m a decent human being. The same reason that I respect people who think that life begins at conception while at the same time understanding that makign a 14-yo girl take her rapist’s baby to full-term likely does more harm than good.

It’s also why I understand that “All lives matter” and that the meaning behind the phrase “Black lives matter” is “Black lives ALSO matter so police should treat blacks that way” and NOT “Only black lives matter,” Again, I think unarmed blacks should not be treated as criminals becuase that is the decent (an legal…) way of doing things, not because that is the PC way of doing things.

Also, if we want to stop ISIS, we need to get more moderate Muslims involved and not give them more reasons to go agaisnt the US, so common sense – not political correctness – says that we must reach out to moderate Muslims , not ban them.

If this were only about common sense.

As Uglyflint stated above “I got a headache. Frog please shut up with all your evidence and proof shit.”

Politics in the U.S. today is about hating who your friends hate. Everything bad– even way over in Germany– is a way to remind yourself of how bad the party is that is hated by your tribe. For most people on this board, that means constantly bashing Obama and Hillary– and then getting mad and insulting toward other people who are not as Right Wing as your friends are– people who don’t watch/read/listen to and believe Right Wing media.

Shut up with this wing shit. Stopping speech left or right is wrong for many reasons.

The media and others allow vulgar, there is no problem for them with that. However if you voice a view that is different or opposed to those views of the people in power and the is labeled and banded. It’s a huge problem. You are looking at the beginning of the end.

Right wing or left. Doesn’t matter. Make no excuses.
