$HAIN is Running Hard After $WWAV Catches a Miserly Bid

Shares of organic food producer, HAIN, is running hardcore higher, after news broke that Danone was interested in acquiring WWAV. God only knows why. Comparing WWAV to HAIN on an apples to apples basis, any moron can see HAIN is the better company. Plus they have better brands.

Some people mentioned LWAY as a possible play off the WWAV bid. But LWAY makes disgusting Kefir and no one really wants to ever fucking drink that stuff, not even crazed body builders. And we all know, body builders would eat roaches if it meant more mass.

I’ve always been a fan of the food industry. In spite of being fit, one could argue that Le Fly is a foodie, deep down a gluttonous pig. Nevertheless, I have my favorites, which are MNST, HAIN and maybe JJSF.

For now, HAIN is living the dream, the fucking rice dream, and loving it.

unrelated — this senator or congressman leading the questioning of FBI Director Comey is skinning him alive, calmly and collectedly, and is slowly getting under Comey’s skin.

    Love it

Need to walk a fine line here, but consider the following:

Both companies are extremely overvalued based on current metrics. Both have growth through acquisitions, specifically expensive acquisition. So you are now paying a premium on top of a premium.

The logical response is that you believe the growth will eventually cause the performance to catch-up and make the multiples more in-line. However, if you look at truly organic performance, neither company is growing at a pace to justify their prices.

What both companies offer are brands within categories that are somewhat scarce; so in an arms race to get these assets, you overpay. Of course this deal is accretive – they’re paying in cash…but actual ROI will be low.

To your point about HAIN, their issue is that they have a ton of small brands, none of which are that prominent or likely to grow beyond a certain point. WWAV has brands that are better known (Silk, Horizon) and have more ability to grow and expand over time.

Moms buy kefir. Then leave it to spoil in the fridge, then buy more.

I love kefir. Drink it every day. Full of probiotics for healthy digestion. Redwood Hill Farm brand. I only drink goat kefir though. Goat milk is easier for humans to digest than cow’s milk products. Kefir is just like yogurt but thin enough to be drinkable.

Have never tried LWAY’s kefir though.

I make my own kefir every week using the grains, but then drain it to a more yogurt like consistency to mix with the hemp protein. It’s an acquired taste, but those probiotics and the subsequent super immunity are worth it.

On the licensed handgun issue, this thing that happened in Minnesota with the black man shot to death in front of his wife and kid just because he happened to have a handgun license. I have always worried about this, because with the handgun license when the cop pulls you over he knows you are licensed, it automatically puts the cop on another level of threat engagement. That black guy probably reached to get his handgun license, which you are required to immediately show once you are pulled over, and the cop just freaked out and shot him. This all looks very bad. Ironically this is a case where gross negligence probably qualifies as criminal activity on the cops part, even if it didn’t in Clinton’s case.
