This is something to keep a watchful glance on, every so often, as “The Donald” continues up the ladder towards the Presidency. The EPA, under Obama, has laid waste to the lads in W. Virginia–enacting very harsh laws that made business impossible. With the GOP on the rise in popularity, under Trump, there is a better than average chance King Coal might enjoy a resurgence, if only during the time from now until the general elections. Perception is everything in stocks, sometimes more so than the actual facts.
Year to date, coal is higher by 23%, beating out gold for the number one performing commodity for 2016.
Coincidentally, natural gas, coal’s main competition, is at the bottom of the barrel, off by 25%.
Some coal stocks to consider, should the trend continue.

I have no interest in BTU or ACI, due to an insurmountable debt burden.

Thanks for the names. FELP has 29% dividend? KOL is doing pretty decent as well.
Stop calling it King Coal you moron; I broke out loud laughing listening to some Fast Money talking head lament the decimation of the coal industry.
I put you in league. Have either of you ever gone down a working coal mine? I’ve only gone down a safe one and it was scary, I can’t imagine what the wild cat coal wranglers face day to day.
Now go to the gym and convince yourself you could work down a mine.
I will call it anything the hell I want to call it. As a point in fact, I would readily dislodge your jaw from the rest of your face had issued this statement to my face.
Moreover, you’re BANNED.
For how long. I promise I won’t post anything for 4 weeks. I can self shun, lotta pa dutch in me.
I apologize for calling you a moron. Is knucklehead better?
But i’m on the rag.
I raised the ban, due to your apology. Sin no more.
Har Har!
He imposed a self punishment like what the colleges do when begging for mercy from the NCAA.
Thank You.
I went down a coal mine once and I was about 6 years old.
It was fun and that’s what I wanted to do when I grew up.
It had air conditioning and when I went back up I had a hot dog and fries.
Of course, little did I know the coal mine @ the Chicago Museum of Science wasn’t real.
tradercaddy, very sweet memory. I fully appreciate it.
Speaking of Chicago-
The figure in the accompanying photo looks like Ronald McDonald on my iPhone.
