Russia is sending war ships to Syria, firing off missiles, and I hear people call Obama a coward. So what exactly would you have him do, engage the Russians or send ground troops to rout out ISIS?

Back to stocks. It looks like my call for a crazy faced rally was a bit pre-mature, with the NASDAQ negative now. Still, I am doing fine in CLX, UNFI, FCX, TWTR and recently sold out of AMCX.
Should we close lower, I will concede that might bode very poorly for tomorrow’s tape. The day is young. Let’s see if the bulls have it in them.

Cradling Putin’s balls is just something people do because of our outdated cave man tendency to want a tough acting leader. In cave man days, we needed fierce leaders to lead the hunt for the woolly mammoths. Because we didn’t have complex governments & economies that took intelligence to understand & manage.
But many humans are still stuck back in the cave man’s idea of what a leader is. It’s related to the strict father model of the family & of government.

This model has its strong points, but when taken to extreme, people end up worshiping stupid neanderthal type politicians in their own or others’ nations.
Such neanderthal “leaders” are retarded in every way, except for being skilled at boasting, strutting around, beating their chests and starting unnecessary wars on false pretenses. They create unnecessary wars to give them an opportunity to act fierce & thus to impress those many humans who still act like cave men & crave fierce but retarded leaders. That way, people get distracted from the fact that the leader is actually retarded.
-Except that Russia is not simply ‘beating it’s chest’; it has made a Iran-Assad-Russian-Hezbullah Shia alliance that could stretch from Iran to Lebanon. US policy has been wrong and now this group could wind up dominating the Mid East with it’s oil market.
On the other hand there is nothing better for the US than a middle east in complete chaos. Gets those creeps out of our hair.
I don’t think it will be complete anarchy though if the powerful Russian military, and a reemerging Iran with 150 Billion in sanctions relief (thanks to the insane ‘deal’ we made) are allies. Additionally, Iran’s terrorist proxy Hezbullah, and their ‘buddy’ Assad could threaten to completely control the Mideast and it’s oil resources. Such an alliance, backed by a nuclear Iranian, would be nearly impossible to stop.
The Middle East seems to do fine at having complete chaos & multiple civil wars without needing any help from the U.S.
Bought a bunch of UPRO. Pessimism is the greatest ally of a bull. Everything looks great. Oil looks nice. Biotech not being killed and up a nice 2%. Treasuries flattish. Dollar continues to lose purchasing power. Amazing times to be a bull. All this changes as soon as things look healthy again of course. But for now everything will be ok forever. This is my story for the day.
It’s about time Russia got busy in the middle east. I suspect they will be especially vicious.

BTW, the fierce vicious guys who start unnecessary wars– and who are wonderful to have around in necessary wars– are not always retarded. Sometimes they are just stark raving mad crazy. That’s what the brilliant film Apocalypse Now was about.
Fierce people can do a great job during necessary wars. But to let them be the leader of a whole country is a stupidity that could easily lead to complete annihilation of the world.

Regarding ISIS, there should be a multinational coalition comprised of at least 3 times the ISIS count of 100 insaniacs or at least 300k from every country on this planet, led by the US, Putin & China. They should be armed with the latest weaponry and send them off to their promised land of 69 virgins and those not willing to meet Allah should be separated from civilized society for the remainder of this life.
At least Putin is doing something but the above would be far better.
