These are three different films: Before Sunrise was made in 1995, Before Sunset was made in 2004 and Before Midnight was made in 2013.
I promise you, you’ll never see anything as unique as these 3 films. This is truly a “Tour De Force”, a trilogy spanning 20 years, starring the same actors (Ethan Hawk, Julie Delpy)–set out to examine a singular relationship and watch it develop over time. Naturally, when they first meet, everything is young, vibrant and electric. However, over time, life happens and then you get to see the subtleties of their relationship, which is very much like any relationship you’ve ever been in.
If you have some idle time and want to watch 3 great films about love and how the circumstances of every day life can fuck it up, these films are for you. It’s a little artsy; but the payoff is well worth it. Trust me.

Your name plus this Saturday Cinema makes me think of Gattaca. Man I liked that movie. Wish I was genetically engineered to be near superhuman. That’s all I really got from that movie.
That’s too bad. Gattaca was strident in its message in places like a YA novel — the sky’s the limit unless you’re “in-valid” — but it’s a good story with good performances.
And the movie looks great although it had a relatively low budget. Always like production design & art direction bring it.
Also, you WERE genetically engineered to be superman at something. Hundreds of millions of years of evolution suggest so, anyway.

For someone who spends so much time taking about orbital space cannons, your enduring love for this trilogy of go-nowhere talkies continues to befuddle me. I guess it’s the ultimate evidence of your breadth as a human.

The cameras don’t have tallies so the cameramen don’t know when they are up, and they keep getting caught reframing. There may possibly be intercom issues.
I like this as a change from the target shooting on the usual “perfect” courses. They actually stopped watering to get ready the course for this. It is usually as green as everywhere else.

Sunset and Sunrise were great. Midnight not so much, the magic seemed to be gone.
The scenery was fantastic however. I’d love to go to Greece. Actually it is probably pretty cheap now.
Midnight wasn’t as good; but very realistic as it pertains to relationships, no?
Plus it was cool to see how badly they aged.

I liked Valhalla Rising. It was kind of weird at first, but it really grew on me.
These films are too Ethan Hawkish for me. However, I did see the HBO series “The Pacific” and it was riveting. Does Herr Fly have a favourite WWII movie?
