I woke up to a pinhole leak in my ceiling, an issue I knew would haunt me at some point in my life. See, when I bought this piece of shit house and fixed up the dining room ceilings real nice, coffered style, I found out the hard way the copper piping was of low quality, likely chinese made horseshit. I ended up having to rip the entire ceiling down, stretching all the way into the kitchen. Lo and behold, in my infinite wisdom, I told the plumber to not rip my entire kitchen ceiling down, despite that same bastard chinese copper piping living above the sheeted rock.
Well, guess what?
THE ENTIRE FUCKING CEILING IS COMING DOWN NOW, whether I like it or not.
I feel like going Macho Man Randy Savage today, offering elbows and leg drops to inanimate objects lying around my house.
I see the market is up and Greece is super stupid again. Airlines up and oil stocks are down. Hence is the life of a man living with a time machine. Your stupid charts pick up what I already knew days in advance.

We are reviewing contractor bids for the replacement of riser pipes in my whole building… all the way up to the god-damned fucking 26th floor! Not cheap.

I just got a bid yesterday for repiping a duplex. Dude said copper was 2.5 times more than pex. Nearly all the repipes are pex these days. He said the copper was coming from China and Mexico these day and not of good quality and more expensive. Of course, it may have been all salesman bullshit.
It’s the cold water piping and I don’t want lex, plastic shit.
Just be sure the grade of the pipe is high. I know for sure they used low quality copper here.
You better replace the hot too. Same plumbers, same pipe. Or don’t put another expensive ceiling under there.
PEX is great. Biggest problem is resistance from old-school plumbers.
He’s right, PEX is the way to go. Plus, moron for not getting it all done the first time. Double dumb ass if you leave the same shit copper in place for your hot water. Do the job right the first time. (or the second as the case may be).

Here on the we(s)t coast our water is forest runoff and slightly acid. Our copper pipe tends to etch out slowly from the inside so it is important we use thicker wall pipe and that it is properly grounded.
I had the very same problem with my ceiling this morning.
Then my truck crapped out on me.
I am having a bad day. At least $SN is down and $FEYE is up. But not enough to make a difference with real life problems.
