So Sethster is annoying, right? I think he and the vix-a-lots are foolish to hold here, but he prompted me to read again about the effects of backwardation vs contango.
The fact that uvxy is still up over 6% at the moment while vix is down to flat is enough to rethink the prudence of my (small) xiv position initiated at twenty-five. Backwardation seems to be a sufficient drag for shorting volatility instruments. I won’t overstay and will be out if the rally fails.
