We’re Not Done Going Higher

Sure the market reversed today and idiots are abound comparing Twitter to Pets.com. But does that mean that The Option addict and his band of goons have to give back their gregarious wins in X and TWTR call options? Does it mean that YELP, BCS, VNET and everything else that is holy and sanctimonious will stop working higher? You people are kidding yourselves. This is only the beginning of the end for your kind of people (no Hitler).

You’re being fooled into a false sense of insecurity. The reader class always responds last, easy to trick and certainly dumb enough to waste time.

Do yourselves a favor and stop thinking. The economy is smoking hot again. Janet Yellen is getting cremated in her social media/biotech shorts. And “The Fly” is hosting his 7th annual iBankCoin dinner this weekend. All is good, my friends.

I’m liking VNET and ZPIN here. Longer term, HCA is a dunkshot.

Darn that TLT call yesterday not good. Down a lot even as market falls. long term treasuries are not cash. SHY or high grade corporate bonds are closer to cash

I think we need to entertain the worst possibly: rising inflation – or – thee expectation of rising inflation, which is much more insidious

Some ppl say that the CPI is low and the usual low inflation argument, and this is true, but the market looks waaaaaay ahead of all of that. It may sense Yellen raising rates too soon or too much a year or longer before ut hapens.

After a rake hike more people will pile into TLT and the like and out of stocks because the “risk free” return will increase in bonds.

Flyboy – The economy is in fact “smoking hot.” The amount of new construction in my area (Boston) is insane. As soon as the weather warmed up, restaraunts and retail stores were busier than I’ve ever seen since moving here. The GDP number comes as no shock. Leave your town, and move to a real city.

The provincial effect is definitely real. No denying that. Having grown up in Upstate NY, there’s no denying that many are still feeling the effects from the 08′ fallout. Even still, there are plenty of positive metrics that could be used to argue a stronger/improving economy, overall. As I said before… leave your current town/city, and head somewhere where opportunity exists.

Boston has plenty of scum – but they’re only visitors or service employees in the city; they don’t live in Boston proper. Tough part about that is that they do tend to congregate to Fenway, constantly, in the summer, polluting my hood. I find for the most part that people live here to avoid the NYC lifestyle. Boston’s small. Really small. It’s an easier lifestyle.

This is a pretty strong run up on earnings for YELP. So basically, everyone is expecting them to blow out earnings? It’s so risky.

The current bull market began March 9, 2009, It has been intact for 5.4 years, 64 months, with one 18%, 5 month correction May thru Sept 2011.

This latest UPLEG began Oct 1 2011, and we are into the 34th month (2 3/4 years)

    Market cycles usually last 4 1/2 years – 2 1/2 up and 2 down.

On the basis of TIME ALONE, I am calling a market TOP here.

I called the GENERATIONAL BOTTOM Nov. 2008 into March 2009. I am not saying this is a GENERATIONAL TOP, but it is about ready for a 20% to 30% correction.

    Fly notwithstanding.

The economy is also BOOMING here in Austin, TX, but then it has been for a while. Pretty much all of TX is humming economically.

Shit, even my home state of CA will have a budget surplus this year b/c of increased tax revenue due to the economy improving significantly.
